Goodbye Jesus

Satan's One Aim Is To Stop You Trusting God...

"But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ."  - The Apostle Paul

(2 Corinthians 11:3)

Looking back to Genesis 3 it's very interesting to see how the devil worked his deception on Eve...

exactly how he still works today...!!

1. "Did God really say.."  - First he questions what God had said, causing Eve to doubt God's Word..

So today the Scriptures are challenged, and we are made to doubt their authenticity and reliability..

2.  "You surely will not die!"  - The blatant Lie that actually, on the face of it, seemed believable...

Again we find today that the truth of Scripture is out-rightly contradicted, in intellectual and philosophical terms that almost seem believable..

3. "For God knows..."  - The suggestion is made that God's motives are not pure..

Today also God is slandered and His motives made to look corrupt...

4. "...the tree was desirable to make one wise."  - In buying Satan's lie, the impression given was that this was a wise choice..

And so the same temptation is made to those who follow Jesus, to come out from the state of simple child-like dependence and trust in God (subjection to authority), and become your own god...(do what you want - think for yourself)..

(Why can't any christian who come here do one simple thing, shake the dust off their feet and leave us for god's wrath.)

As for the op, have you thought about the fact that if your understanding of those verses about satan and the current deception of sin validates a (truth) then would you be subject to the same (truth) that you are trying to validate, or any other (truth) you think you know.

If Satan's one aim is to stop people trusting god, it's fun how Christians are pretty good at doing that too.

Read your history first before you come to us with this nonsense that is written from an ancient book by tribal people .....

Satanism is not a Christian invention....it predates Christianity and goes back to the first 'religion' to explain the evil in the world.

Presenting us with two possibilities-

1. God created satan. That would be truly despicable. This clearly casts God as being immoral.

2. Satan is another god equal to or grater in power than God. Uh oh. That means there are two gods fighting over who gets to be more cruel to people. Very bad for us.

Adam and Eve didn't have the power of Christ's resurrection to save them from the deception, so why do they get punished and subsequently every person who ever lives after them? But now we are expected to be able to protect ourselves through the power of the cross and our devotion to Christ. Looks like we are doing all the work, and not Christ. Seems that the cards were stacked against us from the beginning!

David L,

Satan has tricked you by writing the Bible and pawning it off as God's work.  Remember, “Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Cor 11:14).  That's why the Bible has God doing such things as committing or encouraging genocide, stoning people to death for doing things like picking up sticks on a Saturday, making the owning and beating of slaves lawful, encouraging the beating of disobedient children with rods, and filling people of fears of being tortured forever for not believing unverifiable and dubious metaphysical ideas.

You have doubted the divine origin of the scriptures of Islam, Zoroastrianism, Sikhism, Hinduism, Manichaeism, Mandaeism, Mormonism and a host of other faiths. You have agreed with the Catholic consensus on the New Testament, thus denying the word of God in the Shepherd of Hermas, the Didache, the Gospel of Thomas, and numerous other holy books written by Christians.  How many times have you asked the question "Did God really say?"

Ex-C is a bad place to evangelize btw-- "The unbeliever may be taught to believe, but not the Julian the Apostate to return” -- John Ruskin.

Interesting that you would rely on Paul, an apostate who contradicted God's word, to express concern about being led astray.

There is no mention of Satan anywhere in the Book of Genesis.

Satan is God's servant in the Old Testament.

If you think otherwise, please provide a single verse from the Old Testament that identifies Satan as disobeying a command from God.

Out of context imaginings don't count, I'd like to see an actual verse that says Satan is the enemy of God.

2.  "You surely will not die!"

- The blatant Lie that actually, on the face of it, seemed believable...

Again we find today that the truth of Scripture is out-rightly contradicted, in intellectual and philosophical terms that almost seem believable..

Christianity contradicts the scripture of the Old Testament.

3. "For God knows..."

- The suggestion is made that God's motives are not pure..

Today also God is slandered and His motives made to look corrupt...

Isn't this the same God that regretted what he created, decided to fix it by flooding it, knowing ahead of time that his solution wouldn't work?

4. "...

the tree was desirable to make one wise."  - In buying Satan's lie, the impression given was that this was a wise choice..

You're promoting Christian mythology.

There is no mention of Satan in Genesis, nor any mention of a devil.

Christians have invented their own version of God, one that pleases their senses.

Do us a favor, if you would be so kind. Prove to us that Yahweh of the Bible is God and that Jesus is actually his son. While you're at it, prove that Satan is real too. If you can't do that, maybe you could ask Yahweh to do it himself. If he is God, he should be proving to everyone that he exists, in a way that convinces everyone to believe.

Everyone has a different idea of what consists of proof/evidence and has different standards of when and how to decide that something is true. Being omnipotent, it should be an easy task for Yahweh to meet everyone's standards of proof (if he is actually God).

Actually, the serpent was the only one telling the truth.  Adam and Eve were expected to choose between good and evil but god hadn't bothered to explain the difference, which is why the serpent said, "You shall be like god, knowing the difference between good and evil."  God had told them that they would die in the same day as they ate the fruit, but since Adam lived to be over 900 years old, god was clearly lying.  Furthermore, as BAA has already pointed out, Eve told the serpent that god had said they may not eat the fruit, nor even touch it, lest they surely die.  This means that either Adam had lied to her about what god said, or she lied to the serpent.

It's all about lies and betrayal and only the serpent was being honest.

Thanks for playing, Brother Dave.  You can pick up your consolation prize at the door.

So why does Satan never surrender and ask for forgiveness?  Satan does realize that he has no chance against infinite power, right?  Satan is smarter than a cat right?  The average cat is smart enough to know it can't take on a bear, let alone an entire planet.  So Satan has to know he has zero chance of success against infinite power, right?  Satan doesn't have infinite power, right?

So why does Satan act like a cartoon villain and start a war he could never win and keep fighting even though the conclusion can only be one answer?  Why didn't God use that infinite power to end the war before Satan could wreck God's perfect plan for humans?

Dude, go to www.chabad.org and ask a Rabbi what the Jews (who wrote the damned book of Genesis and included it in their religious writings for the past 5,000 years) believe about the story of Adam, Eve and the talking lizard. (I know you are too intellectually lazy to do any actual research but here's your big chance to break with your personal history!) I did. How they view those accounts is very enlightening.

Then ask yourself why some wanker 2,000 years later turned the story on its head, made it literal and started a new religion based solely on that false premise. (Hint: without this idiotic view of a fictitious story, the bro-ha-ha about the Cross makes no sense. The latter cannot stand without the former.)

You and your silly fairy tales.

(BTW - if you ever see your grandmother sleeping, be sure to check and make sure it's not really a wolf wearing her nightie.)

satan's aim isn't to win; it's to claim as many souls as he can.  He wants to wrest all of our souls away from god so that we have to spend all of eternity, first in hell, and then in the lake of fire and brimstone (hallelujah).  The lord designed all of this in order to demonstrate his everlasting love for us.  I, for one, will know for certain that jesus loves me as soon as I feel the searing kiss of the flames.

Again, I ask: Are ya warshed?  Are ya warshed in thuh blood?

In the Bible Jesus is Satan.  Think about it.  God tells the humans to not touch a tree and then Satan comes along and lies to them.  Fast forward to the Bronze Age and God lays out the Law of Moses and tell's humans how to obey.  Then Satan shows up pretending to be a human.  Satan performs a few signs and wonders and then tells people that they don't have to obey the law.  Satan claims to complete the law so now Satan teaches people to ignore God's law.  Then as a powerful angel it was no problem for Satan to pretend to die and pretend to rise from the dead.  He could disguise himself as an angel of light and be at the tomb lying to the disciples.  "He is not here."  And you remember how an angel appeared to tell Joseph all was going to be okay and Joseph should ignore God's law regarding a woman who was pregnant but not by Joseph?  Joseph had been a Godly man but because of the deception Joseph's inheritance went to Satan acting as Mary's first born child.

People spend their whole lives worshiping and following Satan, get to heaven and discover they disobeyed God's law this whole time.  Then God is pissed off that they didn't give him any pleasing aroma of burned animals.  Our friend DavidL is a Satan worshiper.  It perfectly explains why God smites the Bible Belt with hundreds of tornados every year.
