A continuation of the original thread since that one has gotten over 20 pages long. Post whatever you are doing on Sunday, besides going to church, here.

Had a particularly good breakfast followed by meeting with a gathering of geeky ham friends. So far, a perfect day.

Okay, so I was thinking yesterday was Sunday. I'm old.

Today (Sunday) there will be yet another great group breakfast, followed by a cookout at a friend's horse farm. I think we're having beef, not horse.

Went to breakfast with my wife. She's going to grill steak for lunch!!

After that go install a firewall management server in a DR (Disaster Recovery) site. Yeah, I know it's work related but at least it will be quiet there.

Woke up on a friend's floor after a party.

Gave various people lifts home, as I was the only person with a car.

Then I went to church for what I expect to be the last time. It was weird. It's so so scary when you're out of it. I wanted to laugh or facepalm so many times. There was a guy calling it a "miracle" that he'd got better after taking some pills from the doctors. And the kids had been praying for God to tell them people to go talk to and pray for, and then walking round the town centre trying to find these people (so vague - things like a person in jeans and a white top) and praying for them, then they came back to church to report back. Fucking mental...

But I'm trying to keep hold of the good side of my time as a Christian, at the moment. I don't want to lose my church friends. So I had a picnic with my housemate and 2 other guys from church afterwards. And then we sat outside all afternoon, theoretically with the intention of working, but mostly just chatting. It was a lovely afternoon, but I got quite sunburnt...

I helped the mother-in-law work in the garden this morning. Helped out a bit with the niece and nephew. Grabbed a beer around noon, broke the state's open-container law, drove over to the shed and worked on the tractor. Think I might go shoot something later today- when it cools off. Already getting pretty hot during the day out here in the barren wastes of Western Kansas.

I LARPed this weekend (read: live action role-play) and drove home on Sunday. We camped in cabins and had a good time. Got much exercise slaying various NPCs and running through the woods. My character is a level 1 scholar and did not die, but went unconscious multiple times. Took a long hot bath and shower when I got home.

It going to be hot and sunny today, so I plan to bake myself in it. Got to get some workout in today since I was force fed sweets last night at a Russian engagement party.

A springtime haiku:

Blue sky, quiet stream

Gentle wind, birds are singing

Relax, life is good.

I'm going to ex-church. Meet the ex-sheep. Maybe doze off during the ex-sermon. Yell a few ex-amens and speak in ex-tongues. Snatch a few bucks out of the ex-offering plate under the pretense of getting change. Check out the hot ex-babes in the ex-congregation. Shake a lot of ex-hands and get the ex-hell out of there before the game starts. [/sarcasm]

This Sunday I am attempting to keep my partner long enough for us to get married when it become available next January (Thank you NH Legislature). So far it does not look good. He just got the great idea that “We should clean the exterior of the upstairs windows.”

This means we will have to get out the Evil Extension Ladder from the tool shed and attempt to extend the legs to their limits. Then we have to get the football length thing in the right place without it falling over on both of us. The last three times we dealt with that contraption we did not speak again to each other for the rest of the day. We were both convinced that the other was not pulling their weight and was attempting to kill us.

Wish me luck…

LOL, Broke Free. Good luck!

Around here, we mowed the lawn, cleaned the house, did some planning for our trip to Europe this summer, and are about to relax outside with the grill and some whiskey (well, he'll have beer, but there is no accounting for taste). ;)

I got up at 5:30 a.m., took a long, lazy walk with Daisy, then finished reading Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore. Thank you florduh for loaning it to me, I really enjoyed it!!! Then, I met my best friends for the regular Sunday morning outdoor dining experience. After breakfast, I went to work for a few hours followed by grocery shopping. I just finished checking into the regular Sunday evening Simplex Net (a ham radio activity) and I am ready to wind down and prepare for bed! I had a very busy, wonderful day, and I am so happy that it was not marred by wasting time at church!!! Life is very good!!!

On another note:

I hope this went well. It's probably not funny to the two of you, but I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes when I read this!!! IBF, you are just too cute!!!

Wow, be careful of power lines also. We lost a window cleaner just a couple of years ago because he didn't notice the powerlines and walked his ladder right into them.
