I can only hope that the U.S. will see the progression we have in Europe. Being gay - even among christians - is "at least" tolerated. When I speak to my students about it I notice the youth is already way more tolerant than those in my generation. Those who are anti-gay are the ones that are bullied. That's how it should be IMO.

"They're persecuting me for expressing my honest opinion that homos are abominations in the eyes of the Lord! Just like they persecute racists! This is so terrible!"

Yes, if only the bigots were the ones who were hated.

I find the whole story as odd as it is tragic. I wonder at the sudden spate of apparent "copycat" suicides, and the fact that up to 700 kids in several adjoining towns were all engaging in self-destructive behavior and being treated as emergency mental illness cases. I am BY NO MEANS excusing the religious fanatics for the anti-gay bullying; I merely find the story odd, and it seems kind of "something doesn't add up" to me. Nearly a dozen kids suicided and hundreds and hundreds suddenly diagnosed mentally ill all within a couple of school terms, really?

I think that there is more to it than either "illness" or just the anti-gay thing. These things happen every so often, moral panics, psychiatric "panics" at the collective level, "copycat" murders or suicides, etc. Almost reminds me of the time when everybody was going delusional over their supposed "Satanic ritual abuse" at that nursery school in California in the '80s. Weird.

Forgot to add yesterday: WTF were Sam's parents doing allowing her unlimited personal access to a gun at the ripe old age of 13?

Yet another reason I believe in gun control.

As a gay person who owns no less than 15 pistols, rifles, shotguns and submachine guns, I am totally opposed to gun control.

And I am totally legal.

Lets put it this way, if Jayzuz decides to order one of his delusional followers to carry out Leviticus 20:13, then I need to protect myself. And I will do so. Without hesitation.

For the record I didn't read the article, whatever it is isn't not going to shock me because I already know what Christians are capable of with regards to making the lives of gay youths almost intolerable by inflicting as much suffering on them as possible.

Lest we forget, in Leviticus 20:13 Gawd commands us to violently murder gay people wherever we find them, so I am sure these Christians feel that by driving kids to take their own lives they are obeying the commandment without actually having to get the ax or chainsaw out and hacking them into a bloody pulp themselves. Murdering for Jayzuz is such messy business Posted Image

Agreed, that's why I always preach that religion is the #1 enemy of gays and women. We are a sin and women are property. God is so awesome (NOT!!!).

Not only would I not let jesus into my heart, I wouldn't let him lick my dirty toilet. Then again it's really hard to reason with mythological entities.

I love the bumper sticker;
