What are some things that you love to do now but are a taboo in the church. Aside from sex.
Since I don't grow up in the church, the one thing that satisfied me most was being able to smoke marijuana again. And actually be able to hang out with my girlfriend alone.

I like to listen to songs that have the word "fuck" in them. It actually annoys me now to hear these same songs on broadcast radio where they clumsily edit curse words out. Sometimes, the word "fuck" just captures what is really being felt by the song writer, or what I happen to be feeling at the moment. I like being able to choose my music because I actually enjoy listening to it, and not because of its "edification" value.

I love that I can be angry when things go wrong instead of saying things like: "Thank you god for the lessons I learned when you gave my mom cancer." or "what a blessing that my boyfriend cheated on me, because now I can know your love through this hard time." I like to experience my existence on a much deeper level, more integrated with the reality around me, more aware of who and what I am and what I am cabable of....Which I never allowed myself to do before since all my experiences were intercepted, circumscribed and insto-presto pre-fab interpreted by what I learned from religion, peer groups and society in general. hehehe Guilty pleasures..... :-)

I can accept people for who they are rather than marginalize them - i.e.: homosexual people in particular.
I can just follow facts where they lead rather than rationalize the fuck out of them until my eyes bleed.
I can use the word "fuck" without looking over my shoulder.
I can accept good and bad things as random chance rather than twisting myself in knots trying to figure out what god is trying to "teach" me.
I can just be myself instead of what other people at church think I should be.
I can write the kind of movies and stories I want to rather than deny myself because I need to use my talents for god.
I can read the kind of stories and watch the kind of movies I want to without worrying whether or not it "glorifies god."
And I'm sure there are more things...

Also, I loveeee un-rushed Sundays, just enjoying the day with my husband and pups. I love loving people because they are people, not because I am incapable of it without a higher power making me capable. On the flip-side, I love being able to tell jerks (one in particular comes to mind) that I simply don't want to be around you, because you're disrespectful. For so long I tried to "do the Christian thing" and "love my neighbor as myself", yada yada, but it made me miserable to be around him (a very sexist and judgmental person). Now I can be respectful while not being someone's doormat.
