The writers of it made South Park I think.

According to the above interview, they were legitimately worried that church was going to say something. I think it was Stone that kept saying they'll be cool. The Mormon church came out with a statement basically saying. While The book of Mormon will entertain you for an evening, Jesus will for life or something.
I bought the soundtrack for my wife. Freaking Hilarious.

Yes. It is. But like all Parker and Stone's stuff, they are playing homage and mocking at the same time. ...

Ah, they must do it in a way that doesn't cause people to be offended. I just recall how people shut me out when I put some irreverent things on Pinterest, so I was surprised this was so popular. I think I'll order that soundtrack!

They've got a little store, and some short info videos set up on their show's web site, and a short interview with John Stewart on the Daily show.

The frigging doorbell that they have hooked up to the site just confused the HELL out of me. LOL

Decided he’d taken enough. And he had. And that plain little lad got a bit mad.
