Has anyone seen or heard about The Book of Mormon show on Broadway. I just saw a report on TV about it and it is anti-religion. Now I want to see it. It is the hottest ticket on Broadway! I am amazed people are not boycotting this! I suppose it is because it is about Mormons mainly, but the writers of the show say it is actually anti-religion. Hope I can have a chance to see it someday.

Yes. It is. But like all Parker and Stone's stuff, they are playing homage and mocking at the same time. Also their co-writer was co-wrote Avenue Q. So...

According to the above interview, they were legitimately worried that church was going to say something. I think it was Stone that kept saying they'll be cool. The Mormon church came out with a statement basically saying. While The book of Mormon will entertain you for an evening, Jesus will for life or something.

I bought the soundtrack for my wife. Freaking Hilarious.

Ah, they must do it in a way that doesn't cause people to be offended. I just recall how people shut me out when I put some irreverent things on Pinterest, so I was surprised this was so popular. I think I'll order that soundtrack!

My ex's boss, and one of my former doctors were both mormon bishops--and BOTH were nuttier than hell. I saw some promotional work that Parker and Stone did about a year or so ago about the play, and I would LOVE to see it! They do have tours, but I'm in the middle of nowhere. lol

They've got a little store, and some short info videos set up on their show's web site, and a short interview with John Stewart on the Daily show. :)

The frigging doorbell that they have hooked up to the site just confused the HELL out of me. LOL

There is a south park episode where they tear apart mormon belief. It is hilarious. I wish youtube would allow them but they get pulled due to copyright infringements.
