Jesus Stops Alien Abductions

Anyway, I'm a recent deconvert, happy to be free of this horrid religion after so long. But I came across these websites after researching UFO's and I'm really unsure as to what to think:

It's like my mind keeps thinking 'This is it, here's the proof, time to go back', as stupid as it is sounds it's how I'm feeling. I just don't know.

Secondly, I'm already skeptical of alien abductions. Are they possibly true? Eh, maybe, the universe is big, but does it keep me up at night? Nah. Also, why do they pick the dumbest people?
Thirdly, IF there are aliens, AND they are picking up rednecks to see what's up their asses and in their teeth, I do think they would have to be so technologically advanced (just to cross the vast expanse of space in the first damn place), that I highly doubt the name of a long dead rebel jew would do a damn thing to them, or even mean anything. Is Jesus some space ambassador now? Maybe with the Raelians, but...well, just go look at them.

I'd recommend that you read Carl Sagan's book, The Demon Haunted World. It should clarify a few things for you regarding aliens and alien abduction stories.
Yep. Sagan spent years looking for evidence of alien life and found none. The Demon Haunted World is all about belief that intelligent aliens have visited earth. It contains his Baloney Detection Kit: http://users.tpg.com...ts/baloney.html
There's a PDF of the book here: http://www.thevenusp...unted World.pdf

Experience countering other experience? You still got to prove the experience as true anyway.Hello all, new member here so I apologize if this is the wrong place for this.

The idea is that these aren't aliens, but demons in disguise. Which is why they're rebuked by Jesus. The distance between star systems is so vast it makes visitation practically impossible to me.
Are there any stories of other religious figures being used to halt these encounters?

Well a hallucination and myth is hallucination and myth is hallucination and myth. The idea is that these aren't aliens, but demons in disguise. Which is why they're rebuked by Jesus.

Does it really matter how the stories sound? Did they happen at all is the important question, right?

Well, that makes it entirely implausible to me. If they're not aliens, they're not aliens. Then, so fucking what.

Why on earth would it matter if there are "stories" about it? There are thousands of "stories" about alien abductions, ghosts, demons, and exorcisms. And there's not a shred of proof for a single one of them. Christians lie, exaggerate, and prevaricate constantly and perpetually about their experiences and blow innocent coincidences into humongous conspiracies and portents. Every single person on this forum can recite dozens of stories about lies we've seen Christians tell in their efforts to persuade. People lie. And when they aren't lying their asses off, they're just wrong--trusting their feelings, perceptions, memories, and intuitions way too much (science has established that all four of these are almost completely unreliable). It doesn't matter how many "stories" there are about alien abductions. If even one of them were true, there'd be a tad more evidence out there of it besides the wild-eyed accounts of marginalized conspiracy nuts and religious freaks.
Especially if you're a new deconvert, it can be really hard to sift through stories to discover what's real and what isn't. Before you trade one potentially harmful mythology for another, take some time to really educate yourself about how we, as humans, can know what's true and what isn't. Just because someone makes a website and has a lot of conviction behind what he's saying DOES NOT make it true or real. Take a little time, breathe, and learn. And be welcome
