this saddens me. how could you be so brainwashed as to watch your own child die? i try to imagine taking this risk with my husband, and I never would. it's not nice, but right now, i hope that husband/father contracts something deadly... it would be interesting to see how far his faith stretches with his own mortality in question.

I don't understand why Muslims are jailed and sentenced for their honor killings in America, but xtian people like this get the equivalent of a "slap on the hand". It disgusts me.

So should xians put their money where their mouths are or not?

Seems the headline should read "Cure withheld! Another 'believer' dies on account of weak faith. God obviously displeased."

If you make people think they're thinking, they'll love you; but if you really make them think they'll hate you. - Don Marquis

PLEASE NOTE: Just because I speak as if YHWH/jesus exist does not mean they do. It's simply for the sake of the argument.

I think the biggest difference is the intent to kill. Christian parents who hold onto the belief that their god can cure all problems genuinely believe that their child will get better if they pray hard enough whereas honor killings are done with malice and fore thought/vengeance because someone (usually a female) did something that shamed the family and thus deserved to die.

"Survival of the fittest" comes to mind. If we let this go on... hopefully they'll all die out before they have a chance to breed more faith healing whack-jobs.

In all seriousness: WTF really?

God is the immemorial refuge of the incompetent, the helpless, the miserable. They find not only sanctuary in His arms, but also a kind of superiority, soothing to their macerated egos: He will set them above their betters.

I loath the faith healing messages. We're in the f*ing 21 century, we have far longer life expectancy and medical care is far greater than in the days of Paul, take your kids to the doctor, its apparent from the historic life expectancy of man that god doesn't do anything to extend our lives, but doctors do.
