While my interest in homesteading and such is growing, and I choose to cover my head (for my own reasons), the tired old "feminists just want to be men" thing really makes me want to smack the shit out of a bitch.

I'm a feminist because I believe women are human beings, and not "helpmeets." And all that shit about not disagreeing with your husband,
ever, even if he is wrong?? Fuck. All. That. That's plain old stupid.

If you're happy being a homemaker, fine, good for you. I have no quarrel
with it. But men can do it too. And women don't have to. I don't belong to
my father because I'm not married. I don't BELONG to any man. I'm not a
thing. I'm a human being.

Good for you. You found the line between Phyllis Schlafly and the nutjobs who condemn any woman who wants to work at home. The latter don't realize "women's lib" means women are free to make their own choices, including whether to be a homemaker.

THAT IS MY POINT EXACTLY! If its always about "choice" that the Libbers love to yelp about, them some women CHOOOOOSE to stay at home.

THIS WOMAN DIDN"T CHOOOOSE. She was RAISED and passed from her Daddy's stable to her Husband's stable like a mule.

But you nailed it.

I am a semi-retired medical professional and to relieve the stress of dealing with death all day, I garden and sew. Sewing is so relaxing for me. But if you ever told me I that I had to sew my own "modest" dresses..... I would hurl my Singer 501A (c.1961 looove it!) straight at your man meat and WOE BE UNTO YOU...

She is not cleaning her house, her slave children are doing it. She's laying across the couch typing up all this cognitive dissonance while the mailman is doing her in the delivery entrance.

WTF is with that reading list, death, depression, doom, destruction. Geez lady no wonder you believe in the xian god. Get a fuckin' happy face tattoo and read something happy. Perhaps something by Martha Stewart. Maybe then her website would at least be "pretty".

I think we here at Ex-C should send her a Hello Kitty cake. I can just hear her telling her husband now, "Clement, those heathens sent us a cake. Satan is trying to tempt us!"

I laughed so hard that I had to go change my panties.

Partly because that is what the husband jokingly calls Posted Image ..... "I wanna play Hello Kitty....." Too. FUNNY. And TMI all at the same time....but I wet my drawers just the same..... LOL.....

This enraged me and at the same time, I think it's so funny. Someday, I will be able to laugh at people like this instead of wishing Zombie X would eat them.

Here's another one: http://www.ladiesagainstfeminism.com/
The picture on top emphasizes the fact that the people who run this are stuck in the past.

If these surrendered (read downtrodden) women say they've "chosen" their lifestyle, they are delusional - if you're only presented with one option, it's not a choice.

And kudos to you for having a Singer! We have a couple of electric ones from around the 1970s (one of which we miraculously bought from a thrift shop, in working order and with all its accessories, for $50!!!)

Damn you, Paine!!

I've been sitting here for hours, going through all the "virtual tours" of the homes listed about half-way down on the left-hand side of the website. Most of them are, quite simply, HIDEOUS!!!

Most of them are not just poorly furnished with mismatched, old, ugly, and cheap furniture, but are also lacking much in the way of personality and seem, quite simply, bare. They don't look like warm, inviting homes in any which way. Their houses just seem so cold.

And so sad. Like the woman who cleans her teeth with bicarb soda to save money on buying toothpaste. And the way they all call their kitchens their "headquarters" (puke). Or the woman who said she spends 50% of her time in the kitchen. The one that really made me sad, though, was the pregnant woman whose husband complained about the mess, and attended to the baby so she could get a whole night's sleep in order to clean up. Like, he couldn't just help her out by actually doing some cleaning himself or anything like that. Arsehole.

http://www.jesus-is-...ism_is_evil.htm

According to this:

http://www.jesus-is-...uline_women.htm

women doing sports is evil!

For those of us who believe we should train our daughters according to Titus 2, 1 Peter 3, and other Biblical passages, my answer is “Yes, it is not good.” I propose that sports greatly hinders the development of godly, Biblical, feminine character. Parents today expend extraordinary amounts of time and energy taking their daughters from one sports event to another, week after week, even to the point where it exhausts the family and family resources. The fruits we see are that today’s Christian women are often ill-prepared to be Biblically obedient wives and mothers. This brings to mind a couple of questions: “Why do we spend so much time preparing our daughters to play sports?" and "What does it prepare them for in the future?” My answer is that sports prepare women to be more like men. Instead of spending all that time preparing our daughters as the Bible directs, we are training them to be like men so they can better compete with men in traditionally masculine roles - i.e., compete with them in the workforce, in politics, in the military, and in sports.

I see a lot of male insecurity behind all this...

I was raised like that. But the justification was that a lot of sports were played on a Sunday, and therefore they were all of the devil.

As I suspected restricting females is all about insecure males:

I also notice when driving by our public school grounds and sports fields another phenomenon taking place: the young girls are trained in sports right along with the boys. To me, this can only be degrading to the boys. In some cases, girls regularly participate on boys' sports teams, and therefore compete against the boys themselves. During the past decade, more and more girls participated in wrestling; since there were no girls' wrestling teams, they joined the boys' teams and competed against the boys. I read about one school where the boys refused to wrestle the girls and forfeited their matches; there could be no greater embarrassment to them than to lose to a girl, not to mention it likely violated their sense of masculine chivalry. So not only is female sports participation degrading the feminine nature of women, in many cases it degrades the developing masculinity in boys.

http://www.jesus-is-...uline_women.htm

From here: http://www.jesus-is-...ism_is_evil.htm

The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a Communist, anti-family, anti-Christian, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their babies, practice witchcraft, abandon homemaking, and become lesbians.

LOL. Are feminists required to do all that?

Sometimes feminists refuse to marry, and strongly resent other women who are happily married. Many feminists CHOOSE to become lesbians. Homosexuality is a choice—no one is born homosexual. Feminism and homosexuality are inseparable.

It's far from reality. In reality, U.S. women soldiers like Jessica Lynch are brutally raped (including being "sodomized by Iraqi thugs") by the enemy, and some are raped by their own military colleagues (and then sent back home to America in shame).

So if they are raped by their own military colleagues how is that the feminists' fault?

And how many times can one say SUBMIT, SUBMIT, SUBMIT in one article?

My father tried this submission shit on me once. He said since I'm not married he's the authority over me. Of course, because women should have a male authority over them. If it's not a husband then the father. And I'm fucking 35 years old! I was like, "OK, whatever". Luckily we do not live together, so he can say whatever he wants, those are just empty words, but I rolled my eyes, so he quickly stopped that. Especially that he left me and my mother when I was 8. Not that he did not visit me, but he did not know me growing up as if he had been around. So what authority he wants to be over me now over the age of 30? That's a fucking joke! Obviously something he just heard in his fundy church about women's submission and males being an authority over women.

Errgghhh. My dad did this with me as well. But when I was a Christian, I believed him! I thought all of that crap was true. I used to read books about biblical femininity, and tell my other Christian girlfriends about what submission meant. I could have turned into one of these crazy women!! Posted Image I was so close!

Thankfully I got away from Christianity and all of its repressiveness. Im still working on taking back the confidence and self respect that those ideas stole away from me.

This is disturbing :/ and I can't believe guys expect their wives to act like this. Why would you want someone to submit to you? Is it less of a hassle to deal with someone who submits to you than an actual human being with their own thoughts and emotions? I feel bad for saying this but that can't be a happy marriage or a happy life.

And kudos to you for having a Singer! We have a couple of electric ones from around the 1970s (one of which we miraculously bought from a thrift shop, in working order and with all its accessories, for $50!!!)

The first sewing machine I learned upon was one my parents got when they got married (around '72) and I have a newer one that I got in 2007. The 70s model is far sturdier than the newer one. I've also sew upon a late 1800s sewing machine where you have to work the pedal (that is probably my favorite one since you can work it without electricity).

I have SEVERAL treadle machines. I have a SINGER 66 and a SINGER 99K that are both treadles. They came with a motor option later I think. but mine are foot powered dynamos.

I have a 99 that is a HAND CRANK if you can believe THAT! How you guide fabric and crank the handle is a skill, let me tell you. My hands are very skilled, but that takes real coordination.

And in case anyone thinks I am too domesticated, I also break them down, repair, restore and SELL the old gear driven SINGERS online. It is the only way I can cope with my collecting addiction. Rescue, heal, adopt....rescue, heal, adopt. Or my home would be stacked to the rafters with these GREAT old sewing machines that sew better than anything made in the last thirty five years.

But no man is making me do it between whelping a litter of booger bandits...... Just sayin'.....
