Speaking as one of the Unequally Yoked, that is FANTASTIC news! yellow.gif

I'm so happy for you (and admittedly a little jealous too GONZ9729CustomImage1539775.gif )!

based on some experiences I have seen on this site, it is best if both go on the journey together.

It tends to get ugly otherwise.

Yet more evidence that the best way to go is to not keep your spouse in the dark. Though I wonder how much the difference is also in the different type of relationship that 'allows' for open uncritical sharing between partners. Things that make you go hmm...

Thanks guys :) I was worried about what it would mean for our marriage long-term. Now we can be heathens together! And raise little heathen children!

Maybe he should join our forum as well! That is, if he has his own questions. There are many here who think like he does.

Pretty awesome though that now you two can relate to some degree and help each other through this struggle. You are super fortunate!

I'm hoping he will :) He doesn't get on the computer as often as I do but I think he could benefit from the community as well.

He already has, actually. :)

about a week after my public "coming out" my husband told me last night, he no longer believes in the xtian god!

He says he still thinks there is some kind of higher being, but he not the god of the bible

I think seeing the negative reactions of xtians plus my conversations with him a long the way (he's never been in the dark about my thoughts or feelings, even when we didn't agree, we talked) probably helped him to see xtianity for what it is.

He's been reading my posts and the replies here as well, so I think that probably helped. Anyways, I'm happy to be on this journey with him and glad we can see eye to eye on how to raise our kids. Just wanted to share the good news!

Sounds like a guy with a good head on his shoulders.

You have just broadened the realm of possibilities for your children.

Yes, this is the suggestion that came to my mind, also. I'm one of those who believes in the divine but not Christianity. I hope he feels welcome to jump in if he's interested in talking.

Agreed. I think the open communication and understanding you have with each other are really important.

Good for him! I'm happy that both of you have reached this point without years of anguish along the way. Your 2nd sentence hits on something I'm writing about in an upcoming Kindle book I'm trying to put together. You cite the 'bible god'. And that is EXACTLY what it is - nothing more - a god created by the writers of the various books in the bible. This is what I'm attacking over and over because it's nothing more than a myth - no different than Santa Claus, Unicorns, and other myths. When you narrow it down to just the bible god it is very evident that their cultish teachings and subsequent behavior reflect this simple fact.
