♦ ficino ♦
An interesting blog on Patheos by a convert to Hinduism. She chuckles over how almost all Hindus are Indian and think she is Indian. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/whitehindu/2014/01/am-i-the-same-person/
Deva
That is an interesting blog, and I feel much the same way.
Bhim
It was interesting to read this her blog entries. I was especially fascinated by the one in which she observes that people tend to feel most comfortable around others who look like them, but ends it by noting that she's always felt comfortable around Indians. I've always been in a similar situation in that while I of course feel comfortable around my fellow Indians, I feel pretty much the same around white Americans and don't go about my day particularly conscious of my race. I wonder how I'd feel if I'm with some other racial group, or even, say, white Italians. I can imagine that being a white Hindu probably does give one a unique perspective on things. Strangely, I did feel out of place when I was a Christian, but it had everything to do with culture and nothing to do with race!
