I'm sure Dostoevsky himself would have been horrified to learn something he wrote led to atheism. Yes, I know. The chapter before the famous "Grand Inquisitor" is entitled "Rebellion" in which Ivan lists real-world examples of cruelty to children. It's one of the best summations of the PoE I've ever read. Apparently, D added the chapters on Father Zossima's worldview that come directly afterward as an answer.
