Scottsman
I always go straight to "delusions of persecution are an early symptom of scizoprenia. You should talk to someone." Question isnt persecution. Not want lies forced down our childrens throats isnt persecution, They dont know persecution.

rach
Oh god, the persecution fantasy. Many Christians have an unfulfilled inner desire to be "persecuted." Just as long as, you know, it doesn't get too painful or god forbid humiliating. Persecution...(when not into the somebodys-pulling-my-fingernails-out territory), is exciting, it makes us feel important to be singled out. When I was growing up the persecution fantasy was that we'd all get our heads chopped off by guillotine during the end time. Notice- no severe, prolonged suffering. Instant guillotine death followed by eternal bliss. F* yeah, we were ready for that. It was going to be so exciting. We'd be running around, hiding in the woods, militia chasing our tails, sure beats a boring 9 to 5. The worst that would happen is you'd get shot or die by guillotine resulting in a quick trip to paradise. I think that all Christians and all people everywhere who think they are being persecuted should be forced to study the life of Joseph Merrick "the elephant man" who endured 27 years of humiliation, pain and social ostracism for his deformities. Twenty seven years without health, without love, without a home, without dignity and freedom. That is persecution. Christians, is that what you want to sign up for?
mwc
Ha! "John Luther" (Did John Calvin and Martin Luther have a baby?) gets framed for the murder of a teenage girl by some high-up muckity-mucks because he's the only one in the way of the evil doings but gets let out on his own recognizance? Really? I guess between all the killings and frame-ups they baddies plumb forgot to buy off the judges. Or maybe this judge is all that stands between...never mind. mwc

Scottsman
For your viewing pleasure. I am at a loss for words. They are confusing a decline in religion due to modern science shredding ancient beliefs with persecution. I hope this movie doesnt inspire fundamentalist nutjobs to do terrible things.

Firstly, you need to define for me what you mean by "christianity", which of the 41,000 denominations are we discussing? Then you need to show me studies, statistics, and independently reviewed research that that particular brand of christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world. I'd ask you to present me with facts, but I know you're not very good at that.

I agree that Christians are not innocent but the followers of Islam have committed far more atrocities. For example: The genocide of the people of India by successive Islamic rulers is as horrifying as the Holocaust. People of all religions or no religion are capable of hatred and violence, but the core teaching of Christ,Buddha, Hinduism are peaceful. This is not the case with The Quran. The teachings are only meant for Muslims. If there are any morals and virtues to be found it is only towards other Muslims and not to others. There is nothing in the Quran for nonbelievers except threats, hatred and violence. The one goal: convert everyone to Islam or else.
