Orbit Posted July 16, 2014 Share Posted July 16, 2014 Hi all Some of you may have gleaned from my posts that I have academic training in anthropology, and am a sociology professor who does interdisciplinary research. I didn't come to this board to do research, but am starting a new project on challenges faced in everyday life by neopagans. You guys aren't my "sample" or anything, but it seemed like a logical thing to ask if you would be interested in doing an email interview. Again, if you're not familiar with me, please rest assured I'm not on this board as a researcher--I'm here as a fellow traveler. I'm also not a neo-pagan myself, I'm more of a Pantheist. If you'd be interested, just message me with your email address. Thanks for reading, and I hope no one takes this the wrong way. It just made sense to ask. I do however know a lot about paganism and that many who open the broom closet put their self on danger of discrimination by Christian, Muslim, or Jewish people. Ravenstar Posted July 18, 2014 Share Posted July 18, 2014 I have travelled through various paths, and am not sure what label to attach to myself at this time, if any… but I was a solitary practitioner of witchcraft for a time and identified as a pagan. Ellinas Posted July 20, 2014 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Out of an abundance of caution (no offence - but as you effectively acknowledge in your first post, my knowledge of you is limited to your being a username on a website) I'm not going to make any promises, but: Whilst fairly idiosyncratic in my beliefs, I probably come within the broad category of neopagan. I'm prepared to have a look at your questions and then decide whether to answer provided this is done anonymously (in the sense that I am known only by my username and no other identifying details are required). Is that the source of the suspicion? Or does it seem to be simply a distrust of those who see the world differently - little different to the suspicion you might find from Christian believers?
