Bayard Posted July 30, 2014 Share Posted July 30, 2014 One of the most malicious claims in the Christian narrative is that Jesus was the only one to bring truth and light and hope into the world, and that only by following him can we lead fulfilling and virtuous lives. In reality, millions of people were already leading fulfilling and virtuous lives by the time he arrived on the scene, just as millions of non-Christians do so today. What Christianity did bring into the world was an incredible god-complex bestowed upon its followers, which allows them to get away with saying ridiculous self-righteous things like "I'll pray for your soul" or "God still loves you." Hitler was a Christian, so therefore he had accepted god into his heart. Despite his murder and torture of millions of Jews...he's sitting in this heaven and completely forgiven? Since he hadn't been hung on a Roman cross at the time he allegedly said this, the phrase would be indicative of the fact that others had suffered that fate previously, and the form of punishment was practically redundant, making "the cross" nothing special and not unique to Jesus. Need a vengeful Jesus, He is there. more mild and gentle, He is there…….. Then of course you need to select which type of sect is the correct one. The Baptists laugh at the Catholics, they in turn shake their heads at the Anglicans. The Anglicans are shocked at what the Calvinists preach. The Calvinists despair at what is going on at club Methodist. Oh and don't get them started at Kingdom Hall, they weep at all the others as only they have the truth. Although not according to the Quakers or the Shakers. If only more people would give Presbyterianism a go, the world would be so much better. Unless of course you are a Church of God follower, or a member of the Lutherans……………..
