Guest Marty Posted August 17, 2014 Share Posted August 17, 2014 I just watched a show about Freemasonry, and for a change it seemed a well balanced and accurate documentary about them. They mentioned all the shit we've all heard, but in all stuck to what felt like "real" history. It also smelled like it may have been produced by them, because every talking head in the show was some top member, but still it was refreshing to watch something that wasn't conspiracy orientated. But it got me thinking, because one of the rules is you need to believe in some kind of god. My old roommate is a Mason, and he is a (lapsed) catholic. My father and grandfather are (were) Masons, and both are/were religious, though my dad no longer attends church. So were any of you Masons while you were believers, and if so, are you still? traveller2 Posted August 18, 2014 Share Posted August 18, 2014 I was raised as a Mason a couple of years after my conversion.i decided to go for it as I wanted to joined a fraternity and also to explore things that Christianity had said were bad.i found it quite healing personally esp the master Mason third degree.it kinda all came together then.i stopped going to lodge after thru a mixture of being too busy and also couldn't master some of the ritual which I found embarrassing.
