Christian Love On The Shittiest Day I Have Had In A Very Long Time!

The backdrop to this rant I just posted on Facebook is this: My mother's beloved dog Sally died last night and I woke up to that news this morning, My friend Rhonda's friends on Facebook were rude and insulting to me for daring to express dissenting opinions on her religious and political posts, and then Rhonda publicly yelled at me in ALL CAPS and informed me that I and all other atheists are going to Hell. This is AFTER I posted about my mother's dog dying, which has deeply saddened me and had me in tears this morning. Needless to say, Rhonda is no longer a friend. I deleted her as a friend, and then she blocked me after I responded civilly to her ALL CAPS rant. Here is my Facebook rant after this morning's events:

I am going to the mall. I showered, but I haven't shaved in three days. And right now I don't give a shit about it. If anyone wants to think something of it, that's their problem... I'm not in a mood to take any shit off of anybody about anything! I was just informed by a loving Christian a few minutes ago that I and all other atheists are going to hell. That's after I posted about my mother's beloved dog dying (which is tearing me apart too), and after my former friend Rhonda's friends insulted me for daring to express dissenting opinions.

I am one of the nicest, most kind, most compassionate, most giving, most loving people on the face of this planet, or at least I try hard to be (and I'm going to Hell?). But even I can be PUSHED TOO FAR. And this morning has done it.

Most of my friends already know quite well how I feel about religion in general and Christianity in particular. This morning's events certainly did not help improve my opinions of it any. Religion warps the moral compasses of those who believe in it beyond comprehension and beyond recognition. My former friend Rhonda had absolutely no trouble at all consigning me and all other atheists to a flaming eternal Hell where we will be tormented endlessly without any hope of reprieve, forever. This is Christian love?? And it bothered her loving Christian conscience not one bit! Fuck that, fuck my former friend Rhonda, fuck the Bible (which contains the morally reprehensible concept of Hell), and fuck Christianity!

And the saddest thing is, Rhonda has bipolar disorder too, and I would have been more than happy to help her with that. But to her, I'm just an evil atheist who is going to Hell.

If you don't like this post and the opinions expressed in it, tough shit. I am headed to the mall to try to improve the shittiest day I have had in a very long time!

It may be a while before I am back here to respond to anyone's thoughts on this. I am going to the mall to try to improve on the shittiest day I have had in a very long time. As I said in my rant... Wendybanghead.gif vent.gif mad.gif

For future peace-o-mind -- stay away from Facebook.

I can't. I could spend less time there for sure, but I have too many friends there that I would miss if I left and I'm tied into it in too many ways that are important to me. I express my opinions about religion there regularly, so most if not all of my Christian friends know how I feel. I will likely not miss my former friend Rhonda at all. Her behavior was totally unacceptable.

Then read 'Three Minute Therapy: Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life'. Then apply the lesson from that book anytime you go on Facebook or anything for that matter.

Its really easy. Just a friendly pointer...
