Thankfully these people do not represent the thoughts of us all.

 

I for one think that we have a right to decide to live or die period. It is our life no one elses. We dictate that and no one else.

 

What a pack of assholes. They could care less that this girl was going to die in horrible pain and that she choose the path that was not only easier for her but for those that love her. Rather than make them watch her fall apart and die right before them she choose dignity.

Rest in peace. I was on a panel in my philosophy class about physician assisted suicide, while I can see the danger behind this practice, but this should be up to the individual to decide at least the physician can try to ease her pain and look for alternatives.  In the end, none of us can know what is going on in the minds of the people who decide this path, every circumstance is different.

I think I can see where you got the idea that you were being put down from. Given this statement right here: "I usually don't resort to name-calling, as it's nearly always childish and unwarranted." and the fact that Citsonga's post came directly after yours, I can see where the source of the confusion comes from.

 

One thing that I've learned since I started using online forums is that it is unwise to assume that the post after yours is directed at you or anything you've posted when your name hasn't been mentioned and when none of your previous posts have been quoted (unless of course you are the creator of the thread).

 

I have made this mistake in the past with someone else's post that was referring to the OP at the start of the thread, but appeared to be addressing something that I'd said. In the end, I discovered that the assumption was indeed incorrect and that cleared up any confusion that I had. I just thought I'd mention this to help you out a little bit.

There is nothing sane or nice about people who wish pain on someone that is already dying from terminal illness. The fucking assholes wishing the pain are the ones that are terminally ill in reality. They cannot be fixed until they destroy the nasty person they are and start fresh with a new outlook on what it actually means to be human for its own sake.
