Might not be the right forum but it seems Rants gets the most views and I figured most would like this. Mods feel free to move if necessary.

On Wednesday’s edition of the Today Show, Marlo Thomas made an appearance with Colin Hayward Toland and his family to discuss how they discovered Colin had a brain tumor at two years old, and how after an emotional recovery, he is now cancer-free after receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Introducing the live segment, Today Show host Natalie Morales said:

“Colin’s story is just another example of the incredible work, the miracles that are performed at St. Jude…”

Thomas was quick to interrupt, noting:

“It’s not a miracle though, it’s science. This is what we do at St. Jude…”

Go Marlo

Thanks for posting this.

I LOVE Marlo Thomas, and her dad. I remember watching when she met Phil Donahue (her spouse since 1980!) on his talk show in 1977. Yes, I'm that old!

Thanks for posting this, Jds22. I've always admired Marlo Thomas.   The article also mentions her "Free to Be...You and Me" franchise.  The book came out in the early 1970's and there was a televsion special shortly thereafter.  I still have the album from back then.  In the 1980's, I bought it on cassette for my daughter.  Yesterday when I was in Target, I saw it on cd and bought it for my 4-year old granddaughter.  A great tradition!   smile.png

Very nice!  I get tired of everything being a "miracle" or a "blessing," when it's actually hard-working people that actually did something and succeeded excellently.

I agree, finally someone giving hard working people the credit and not the divine boogeyman.
