Wrote this on a whim a few minutes ago. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Once, there was a dream, and that dream we called civilization, and upon it we put the hopes of our decedents. Out of Africa we were called by that dream, with nothing other than the need to find something more than what we had. As the centuries passed, we realized that dream, forming empires that stretched across our small world, great cities where millions lived and monuments to our ability to dream that would be remembered forever.

So, we dreamed again, of something better than what we had; better than nations, better than empires, better than the fractured planet we had formed. We were held back, by the faith of the small minded, by the terror made by evil men, and we were held back by our own fear that we would fall and not touch that star that tempted us to reach out and grab it.

Still more centuries have passed since we first dreamt a dream of peace, of unity, of a race united by our common heritage as dreamers. We are still held back by what has always held us back, but that has never stopped us before. We have touched lands we never thought existed, flown like the birds in a sky we thought forbidden to us, and we have only just begun to reach out to the stars that had only been signs of something beyond our small terrestrial home. This dream of peace, the dream of unification, is as achievable as anything our ancestors have put together, and it will be us, someday, who will see it through.

For we are the children of dreamers.
