pantheory
This is exciting to me. I expect they will find a lot of water ice there near the surface, the white spots (hopefully not salt) and other observations have indicated, that I hope will be detectable by our probe. If ample accessible water exists there Ceres seems like it would be a good place eventually for a large space colony and center for mining the asteroid belt someday. pantheory
Not to mention a great starting point for looking for the Millennium Folcon... Yes, extra-terrestrials might also find Ceres a fine place to base mining operations of our asteroid belt. Great science fiction stuff
duderonomy
This could be a big boost for manned space flight. If we find oil there, I'm sure we'll find a way to get "boots on the ground" and make Ceres safe for democracy.
