Steak House, you're still my favorite Christian poster here. I said that somewhere. At least, I think it was you, or maybe I dreamt it. Maybe I saw it on Dr. Phil? Hell, now I'm not sure, but I think I said it.

Anyway, I was watching some porn videos today, and I saw a couple doing a reverse pascal. Their dog was watching and at the end of the vid the dog turns toward the camera and says, "I don't care what other dogs do, this is why I won't eat people food".

By now you know that we all would like to know what you have to say. Be serious and we will take what you have to say seriously, whether we agree with you or not.  If you are going to want us to know how you feel, what you believe, and what you think, it might be best to leave humor out of it. The floor is yours when you are ready, A1.

i was being silly with comic relief, i was trying to deliver a reverse pascal, but it was lame. dont mind me. i wasnt using apologetics i was using satire i dont actually believe that

You have used apologetics extensively throughout this thread.

Notable examples include post 7, 10, 23, 24/25, 33, 38, and 39

It sounds like what I would expect if Ken Ham was drunk and about to pass out.

If I was using apologetics I'm just talking about it in general for casual talk. and not in a manner to convince anyone.

There is no evidence or reason since the dawn of man that evidence that an atheist hasn't already debunked or contested. If I was using apologetics I was referring to the fact that there is nothing new an atomic bomb of full of over used claims that could level out 3 planet earths 10times over.

So u reallyyy think I would try to use apologetics already knowing this? ROFL

Bro let me get your autograph and a discount ticket to your next show

So anyway give me a few weeks I want to put in a simple layout of why and the reasons for what made me convert and why I find it so hard to go back. I can't Unlearn or undue what I know. Just like an eX Christian and anyone on this site once they reach the point when they went thru the whole faith thing and experienced it full swing and come out the other side...its literally Impossible for them to back track and go back to believing.

I feel the same way being an atheist before hand and become Christian there no way I can back track knowing what I know now

One side of the discussion has evidence.  Religion has not learned anything new in thousands of years.  Meanwhile science has learned how to (under certain conditions) cure disease, end famine, bring people back to life, make the blind see, make the deaf hear, make the legless walk, travel to the moon, communicate with the opposite side of the Earth, learned how our planet and the stars were formed, predict hurricanes and so on.  Basically science does many of the things that primitive people hoped for from God.  We have even learned to make war with more fireworks than a mythical sorcerer could ever have dreamed of.  Those are not angels or gods watching your every move from the heavens.  They are satellites and reconnaissance drones developed through human science.

So one side has evidence but the other side doesn't.

Am I deceived? I don't think so i had no teacher or mentor for christianity so no one taught me but myself.

I came to Eckankar on my own. I read a number of Eckankar books on my own. I joined their stupid religion and paid for Harold Klemp's stupid false teaching. I had no mentor. Yes, I was deceived. Yes I allowed myself to be deceived.

I believe in God because if his consistency and reliability in my personal life.

Before I believed in Jesus: Consistency and reliability in my personal life.

During my period of belief in Jesus: Consistency and reliability in my personal life.

After I stopped believing in Jesus: Consistency and reliability in my personal life.

When u stick ur hand in an electric socket and get hurt. You don't do it again it.

This I how I feel with Christianity I been shocked with soooo much evidence its mind blowing. Me going back would be irreprehensible I don't even know if that's even a word. Lol.

I read like 100 *Supposed* contradictions of the bible and found out they actually wasn't.

This is what intrigues my search for truth and knowledge.

The biggest barrier between Christians and atheist is this repeated cycle.

Atheist will say we have heaps and mountains of evidence you have none.

The Christian will say no you have NOT a shred of evidence of x or x or x

And the atheist say dude what the %#$%# are u talking about we have so much evidence your head will explode.

Then the atheist says it is actually YOU that doesn't have a shred of evidence.

The Christian present evidence the atheist says that's not evidence. That's like saying this rock is a baby. No its not a baby its a rock. So your evidence is just not evidence.

Then the atheist present his evidence and the Christian says No dude...bro.. That's not evidence!

See the patter here?

Neither side accepts the other sides evidence and then..... Claim that Their standard of evidence is higher and better and more reliable.

Each claiming they exact same thing while both denying the evidence form either side.

Accusing each other that I heir evidence is not even evidence on the first place to began with

Each claiming they have books scientist museums documents and fossils of evidence each claiming the same thing an rejecting the other party.

The pattern can't be broken

For thousands of years it hasn't been

So why would it now?

Then Jesus appears in the flesh in front of you, me and everyone and proves once and for all he is real!!!! Oh, no, I guess that never happens, does it?

Like your *trusted* mom or dad being there for u

Or like relying on a ball to drop to the fllor every time

I have had constant constant constant things that make me believe in God.

That is why I believe I believe based on consistently effectiveness

I believe in Flying Spaghetti Monster because of his consistency and reliability in my personal life.

It might be something new, MR.  We shouldn't pre-suppose.

My apologies if I'm hindering the unraveling of A1's love for Jebus. :)

My many reasons for believing is so in depth it would make my head explode if I try to put it in a few senttences.

I would pay money to see that.

I suspect the many reasons dont really exist.

Jesus did it several times but only for his mother and the disciples.  Shouldn't that be enough?  It's mentioned several times in a book so it must be true.

Does it count if he appears on a piece of toast?

Well the Body of Christ can magically become a wafer.  Shouldn't that make all pastries count as "in the flesh"?

I thought Pop Tart was the Father of Prostitution.

(At least that's what I heard in junior high, many many moons ago.)

  • 3 weeks later...

Steak Sauce believes in God because of God's consistency and reliability in his personal life.

I can't wait to hear A1's story. It's been a couple of weeks. He's due back at any time, hence the bump.

Damn, I hope A1 shows up soon. The Den has been so slow lately that if you want to talk with a Christian here, you have to bring one with you.
