Goodbye Jesus

Go, Philae!

The ESA turned on Rosetta's comm systems in March 2015 to listen for Philae, no doubt on the perceived likelihood that the movement of the comet in it's orbit around Sol would allow for direct sunlight to reach Philae's solar panels.

The NPR reporter on this story called it a "minor miracle".  It's amazing how science reporter's often try to sensationalize the story.

That's what (most) media do these days. The more it gets people's emotions rolling (joy if we're lucky, shock/fear/hatred most of the time), the more it makes them watch/listen/click/buy the paper, and the more money they make.

Note: "truth" or "facts" is not listed up there... for a reason.

Awesome! Obviously, some sympathetic aliens repaired our primitive space probe for us and powered it up. Maybe they will visit Earth soon and we'll get to thank them in person! Glory!

Dude you won't be that excited anymore, at least not in a good way, once the repaired thing arrives and inevitably identifies as V'Ger... :P
