Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?

Because they are good.

Genesis 2:17  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

People don't seem to understand that believing that they are good will also kill them.

So why was Genesis 2:17 a lie?  Even in the story the people didn't die the day they ate the magic fruit.

mymistake I only have some answers but not all, I still have to keep learning. As for your question, people do die from believing they are good or evil. This is because when you believe in something good or evil you push your bioelectrical emotional faculties to either there positive or negative extreme, then they eventually die.

Because they are good.

Genesis 2:17  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

People don't seem to understand that believing that they are good will also kill them.

"Bad" things (perhaps better described as unfortunate things) happen to virtually all, if not all, people regardless of whether they are tall, short, old, young, "good", "bad", indifferent, happy, sad, able-bodied, disabled and/or a host of other conditions or temperaments.

Your post seems to claim that only "good" people experience "bad" things.  But, as I'm sure you already know, that is not the case at all.

Your Biblical reference is curious, as I see no connection whatsoever between it and your prior sentences.

Your conclusion, "People don't seem to understand that believing that they are good will also kill them.", is yet another claim for which I strongly doubt you can support with relevant empirical evidence.

Got anything else?

And, by the way, welcome to the Forum.

Please provide the relevant empirical evidence for this claim.  You know what that would be...case studies, any scientific hypothesis involving "bioelectrical emotional faculties" (your words, not mine), e.g., testing procedures, null hypotheses, etc.

Yes, some have "answers but not all [answers]".

So far, all you have presented are mere assertions.  You have yet to provide an "answer", and that's because you have not presented a question.

I can provide evidence that "bad" things happen to virtually all, certainly to a larger group than just "good" people.

As to the rest of it, you're the one making the mere assertions.  You have the burden of proof to support your claims.

Since you admit you have "no evidence" (again, your words, not mine), standard rational discourse rules now require you to withdraw your unsupported claims.

The last four words are false.  And you did not answer my question.  Why did God lie in the story?  Adam

didn't die the day he ate the fruit.  Eve didn't die the day she ate the fruit.  God said in Gen 2:17 that they

would surely die that day.  Yet they didn't.  Why would God bear false witness?  That is a sin.  If God sins

then that means God doesn't hate sin and God isn't separated from sin.  Maybe Christianity is wrong.

Ok I can't play in a game of entrapment, so this is what I'll say. Nothing I say is a truth claim, truth to me is just principles and theories. For me to demonstrate 100% truth of anything is madness, so I wont try it ever.

I am not a Christian that's ever been here before. But I am here now to test my fucked up ideas on you people just to make sure they are correct.

Yeah it's getting to the point now that I think it's better to go mad for life than straight for want.

Well so far you have a bunch of ideas that don't make sense and you admit you will never have any

supporting evidence for them.  Have you considered that religion might be wrong?

Yes I have, well the bible and religion is very flawed. Look at it this way, say life has a message for his creation and the only way life can deliver that message is through a system that's deep in an anomaly, do you think that the message will turn out perfect?

Cook then.

I have to set some groundless rules, though.  #1 is that you should find this out for yourself. Don't make the Christian mistake of thinking that the everlasting arms of love are waiting for you, and don't make the Atheist mistake of believing that they aren't.

It's all up to what you believe, isn't it?  There isn't a shortcut. You have to think these things through yourself.

I don't think perfect exists.  You are the result of several billion years of your ancestors surviving well

enough to procreate.  Your line is just one generation away from dying out.  There is no message.

You give your life meaning.

Say, why do you call yourself "immoral"?  Maybe we can go over the meaning of morality.  Perhaps it isn't

what you think it is.  Maybe you are not immoral after all.

They need a fucking beating mate.
