Goodbye Jesus

The Universe And You

God loved us so much that when he made the universe around us he only made 1 planet(count it) 1 planet the these creatures could thrive on, that we know of. Also, only about 29% of that said planet(which we ironically call earth, go figure) is livable for the said creatures.

But YA, God made everything for Us!

Sorry, I had to get that out.

Goodbye Jesus

He also made the countless diseases and microorganisms that are trying to kill us 24/7.

Exactly.

Not to mention, we will probably be LONG GONE before the earth meets its fate.

Not to mention the universe. Our footprint in the universe is so minuscule that you wouldn't even notice us on the timeline of the universes life (or life cycle).

I like THIS cosmic calendar that was explained by N. D. Tyson in the new 'Cosmos' series that shows our so-called significance in the grand scheme of things...

That tiny pillar of light coming up in front of him near midnight of December 31st is representative of man's time of existence since the big bang which occurred at the beginning of the "Cosmic Year" in January.

Pretty amazing. And yet so in-your-face ridiculing to the theologically believing masses.

I like that series also. Too bad there isnt a way to show a timeline of the life of the universe and within that timeline show how humans fit in. We probably wouldn't even show up on it.

I know this is an overused analogy but our time in the universe would probably be like a drop of water in an ocean.

That's exactly what that calendar shows.

If you combine everything that ever was and happened from the big bang until now and put it into the form of one calendar year, mankind's place in all that is that tiny pillar of light that you see in the pic right at the tail end of December.

The part of the calander I was refering to was "from now, until the end of the universe", which the calander cant show due to the fact we don't know the future. I bet we can get a pretty close guess though.

One of my hobbies is astronomy. When I'm out there looking up at the night sky, I think of the approximately 300 billion stars in the Milky Way. And then I look at the Andromeda Galaxy, which you can see with the naked eye in a dark sky, and I think about it being two and a half million light years away, and containing a trillion stars. And then I think about the estimate that there are about 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe. And I must think that in all those unfathomable numbers, there must be a planet out there other than ours that supports life. I only hope that such life is more intelligent than ours.

I think you are missing the point.  The universe was created for tape worms.  The universe is fine tuned to be the perfect place for tape worms to exist.

That is correct. Tape Worms look at us as LOWER on the food chain, therefore the Universe MUST have been created for them! That is why the Tape Worm God "Feastonya" created us humans so the Tape Worms NEVER ran out of food! It must be so because the Eattible says it's so!

Let us not forget cockroaches.

Or beetles. God must love beetles so much that, having made one beetle, He went on to make 400,000 different variations on the Perfect Creature, in His infinite wisdom. 400,000 species of beetles. Also, the mind-boggling diversity of the parasitoid wasps. The "lays eggs on live prey and then the maggots eat 'em alive" model must have been a real winner. All in accord with His infinite mercy, I'm sure. And that's just insects - barely even scratching the surface of the insects alone.
