Goodbye Jesus

Trump Or Carson

Either is a very scary thought for the free world.

Trump: a reality TV star who inherited his money from his father , yet has the nerve to call himself a self made man

Carson: A creationist and a member of a weird Christian sect

We are into the "The Twilight Zone " here people

P.S

Here is a far scarier thought:

President Trump and Vice President Carson

This is not meant to be smart-ass, but if you are British, WHY are you so concerned about the American President?

Perhaps because US politics and leadership affects the whole world.

True: and also I happen to like America on many levels, having visited a few times and hosted an American here in my home town. Despite its many flaws ( and what country does not have them), America remains both a vibrant and beautiful country, and it's shame I will almost certainly never set foot there again due to :

My Intense dislike of flying

America's decision  to fingerprint and retina scan  everyone coming in as if we are all common criminals

My interest therefore now remains on-line

To add:

Having been to both Canada and New Zealand , I found both countries amazing (and New Zealand is especially beautiful , with stunning scenery), but America will always remain my favourite country and New York, my favourite city

Thank you Castiel for being willing to look past our many flaws.  We do a lot of things wrong but I'm glad there are some who can see the good as well.  Let's hope in the future we do more good than bad.

Is this the correct subforum? Just asking.

Trump would be far superior to Carson. Though horrible in his own way, Trump is smart enough to listen to smart people. Carson believes he is guided by "the Lord" in everything he does and would only listen to fellow Christian fanatics. It would be far better to have a hypocritical, insincere Presbyterian as President than a sincere, delusional Seven Day Adventist.

How about none of the above?

Well, as a liberal and card-carrying member of the ACLU (literally), I'm disappointed with the entire field on both sides. But if it came down to T or C, I'd rather have Trump. And for much of the same reason as Blood (post #7) above. When Trump does a deal he does have to look at the reality of it. Carson long ago fell down Alice's rabbit hole.

I would agree, and would prefer a Trump Presidency to a Carson one, although either man in the White House is a sobering and very depressing thought.

Trump, with rumoured Mafia links, and an accusation of sexual violence or Carson, a man who denies the scientific consensus on evolution and whose devotion to his weird religion would be a real worry, with his finger on "the button"

Trump, I suspect has very little real interest in religion and is devoted to his ego, capitalism  and his poll numbers. In an odd sort of way he reminds me a bit of Reagan, in so much as he is an "entertainer" rather than a real politician, driven in part with a desire to project a "square jawed, flag waving, support our troops" image of an "all American"

I don't like Trump.  But I really don't like some of the others.  Like Carson, Huckafucka, and especially Ted Cruz.  What a puke.

But I don't have a dog in the hunt really.  I was nutzo to see obama get in there in 2008 - and it's been a disillusioning experience.

I don't think any of them have a chance.  We're looking at a long line of Democrats in the Oval Office if the Republicans keep up with these poor quality candidates.  That said, I would prefer Trump if I absolutely had no choice (thank goodness for being able to vote third party!).  Carson's weird soft voice and smug expressions creep me out.

Both are bad options, but if I had to pick one over the other...it would be Trump.

I can at least be reasonably sure that Trump is simply pandering to evangelicals for votes - I'm sure he really doesn't care if someone gets an abortion or gays marry, etc - meanwhile Carson actually believes the shit that comes out of his mouth.

Well if Trump does win I'm going to hope that I was wrong and the rest of you were right about him.  He scares the hell out of me.

Listen to yourselves.

You all know Trump's going to be the next president.  You are all starting to rationalize how it's OK in your heads.

Intuition? Prophetic knowledge? Sixth sense? Spidey sense? Squirrel's gathering their nuts?  Don't matter. It'll be here before you figure it out, but it's going to happen.

So if I haven't said it before, I'd choose Trump.

Why even consider Carson? A religious nut can't go head to head with a Presbyterian!

I have to admit, it will be fun watching protest movements that demand to see the DNA test that proves Trump's father wasn't an orangutang.  Trump set the precedent and he has it coming.  The people have the right to know the truth.  What is he hiding?

I would vote for Trump.

Who are we kidding, it doesn't really matter who we vote for anymore - there's no difference between who's President, or which of the two parties wins.   None.  They both spend like drunken sailors, one steals our money and gives it to the top 1%, the other steals our money and gives it to the bottom 1%.   Social issues always consist of the same four tired "pet" themes:  abortion, gay marriage, immigration and gun control.  Nothing else matters except those four things.

That's brilliant Hillary! Put that on Twitter right away! Use your southern accent if you need to.

It's gonna be YUGE!

At first I thought Trump wouldn't be so bad. Stupid and inept, but not so bad. But now he's talking about creating Muslim data bases, shutting down mosques and creating some sort of public ID for them. Seems he's taking plays right out of Hitler's book. And no, that's not Godwin; not when the comparison is 1:1.

Yeah, but if he follows suit then at least you know he kills himself at the end of the war and genocide.  So there's at least that to look forward to. wink.png  (Work with me I'm trying to make lemonade here)

It seems to me that Trumps popularity is mostly based on him being the complete opposite of political correctness. He is willing to say the things many people want someone to say but no one else will. After the recent terrorist attack his numbers have gone up again. He is the anti PC's crowds guy.

Carson is a nice guy that is a real life example of the American Dream. Neither one of them may end up winning the nomination, but I think Trump is the most likely one, of the two, to win assuming one of them wins. It the terrorist strike the U.S. again before the convention then I think Trump could win the Presidency because the voters will want a no nonsense guy who is willing to wage unrestricted war against Isis & I don't see anyone but Trump willing to do that.

Trump is an example of inherited wealth (gained by his father through big government loans from a liberal housing program, the FHA). Carson is an example of liberal affirmative action ideas, bringing promising black kids from urban areas into the Ivy League schools and giving them a chance to succeed.

Neither of these frauds would have succeeded in a libertarian-capitalist economy they now espouse. They are both major beneficiaries of liberalism and big government, directly in Carson's case and indirectly in The Donald's case.

Hypocritical assholes to the nth degree.

I don't know a lot about politics except they trigger me the same as religion so all of it makes me so mad. If Trump is another Hitler, he is winning a lot of people over by his outrageousness. His outrages are making people stand up and listen to him. I've said that from the very beginning of trying to follow all of this.

Dear invisible God.....please let me live long enough to see the out come of this election!! 17.gif

The scapegoating he's engaged in is dangerous as hell. The world's been through this before and it never ends well.
