I would have to say I second that.

Most Christians in the Mid-east are Orthodox (Nestorian?) or maybe Maronites, and while they're probably quite conservative, they are so more in the traditional manner, and not in the American fundy way. I honestly believe Christians serve as a somewhat neutralizing force in the Mid-east and in any case they're such a small minority they cannot afford being all too bigoted.

This particular bigotry can be useful IMO. Too many xians in the US give the politicians political capital to keep on sucking Israel's dick. A little animosity between the two religions can be healthy in this case.

I'm a libertarian, classical liberal and conservative in my political views. 

 

Which means I believe in freedom of religion or non-religion. To each his own, but bigotry and persecution is wrong.
