Goodbye Jesus

There Must Be A Holy Spirit

There must be a holy spirit, because I constantly hear Christians saying the same mundane things in the same order. And lo and behold I find their very words in the "holy scripture". They're like a bunch of retarded individuals who can only express their ideas about belief according to a divine template.

And they seem pretty proud of themselves for it too.

Glory! The next time I've had me some Lagavulin or Caol Ila, I'll go to the nearest congregation and proclaim, "The Holy Spirit dwells in me!"

As a church pastor, I watched completely normal and intelligent people - outside the church - turn off their minds when they walked through those church doors or discussed matters of religion.  It's no wonder Christians keep repeating the same useless judgmental trash, since religion is the switch for turning off their brains.  Religion is an extremely dangerous form of group think - such that groups can think it alright to kill others as an act of service to the loving God.  So let's see, God loves us enough to create us different than anything before or after, unique, and all in the image of God, but God wants us to kill each other.  It's insanity.  If we are made in the image of God, it must be because we can think.  I hope we find a way for the religious world to turn its mind back on, think about how ridiculous primitive middle eastern religion is, especially think about how horrid a human sacrifice on 2 perpendicular sticks of wood is, and leave organized religion behind.

I sat through maybe 30'ish years of sermons and I can count on maybe one hand the number of topics discussed.  It's all endless repetition.  I spent some of that time really trying to listen and figure it out, because I wanted to give xianity a chance.  I had so many questions and doubts, but kept thinking, "There has to be something to this xianity thing that I'm just not getting."  So I really tried paying attention and getting answers to my questions.  I never did get good, satisfying answers.  And, really, the sermons just repeated and repeated the same messages.

Trust in god (trust whether or not your prayers are answered; trust in his mysterious ways).

Obey.

Give the church your money.

God is always watching you and listening in your head, so you should always try to do what jesus wants you to.

No sex outside of marriage.  Ever.

I'm done with xianity now, and realize those simple messages were because the bible is such an incoherent, vicious mess full of horrible stories.  And the church wants your money.
