Astonishing 1968 Prophecy By 90 Year Old Woman....eh, If You Say So.

So a print out of this was handed to me this afternoon when I was having lunch with some family members. All of them seemed quite taken with it, in fact the person that was so keen for me to read it was one of the few people I'd been considering telling about my atheism (no longer, I fear).

Thought I'd share it with you lovely people. Can't say I'm that impressed (though I pretended to be mildly interested during lunch for the sake of peace).

Thoughts?

I got a real good laugh. Thanks for posting it. Could you keep a straight face?

That's all?

I'm amazed at how much fear these things generate. But they do.

@qadeshet Barely, thankfully most of them were busy eating soup, but still I had to bite my lip a little one or two times.

@Jeff Yeah, I really wasn't impressed, but my family thought it was 'AMAZING' and 'just so accurate'. I just made a non-committal 'hmm' and hoped the conversation would move elsewhere.

Honestly, I would have had big laugh and said: "You have got to be kidding!" But when you get to be my age, you really don't care what they think.

Well at least the Third World War will be a short one -- or so she says because she "saw the events with my natural eyes".   WendyDoh.gif

I would have had a hard time not laughing.  I'm sure at a minimum I would have done some smirking, head-shaking, face-palming, and eye rolling.

Our good ol' christian families -- gotta love 'em.  Bless their hearts.  GONZ9729CustomImage1539775.gif

She saw it with her natural eyes, but then she says she won't be around to see it.  It must be a Biblical prophesy...it has contradictions!

This one has been circulating for quite a while. It's a classic mixed bag of "predictions" you could drive a truck through. Curiously though there's a fair amount of inaccuracies about the era in which it was allegedly written.

Lamest prophecy I've ever heard. AFAIK, Norway was already fairly secular 50 years ago so even that seems off the mark.

I don't take these things seriously unless they're like 50 pages, originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic and/or Greek and then translated into the King's English.  That's how you know it's a real prophecy.

She got all that prophesy from.........2 Timothy 3 but she added a few names and places. Wendyshrug.gif

“Difficult Times Will Come”

But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear].For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people and keep far away from them. For among them are those who worm their way into homes and captivate morally weak and spiritually-dwarfed women weighed down by [the burden of their] sins, easily swayed by various impulses, always learning and listening to anybody who will teach them, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres [the court magicians of Egypt] opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, unqualified andworthless [as teachers] in regard to the faith. But they will not get very far, for their meaningless nonsense and ignorance will become obvious to everyone, as was that of Jannes and Jambres.

Margee beat me to it, I was thinking a lot of it was straight from the Bible.

I think of biblical predictions as similar to horoscopes. They're vague, general, and symbolic/metaphorical/allegorical enough to be able to fit just about anything, including any difficult time throughout history or in one's own personal life.

An old woman of 90 from Valdres in Norway had a vision from God in 1968. The evangelist Emanuel Minos had meetings (services) where she lived. He had the opportunity to meet her, and she told him what she had seen. He wrote it down, but thought it to be so unintelligible that he put it in a drawer. Now, almost 50 years later, he understands he has to share the vision with others.

It is the above-quoted part which tells the real story.  We must believe "The evangelist Emanuel Minos" that there was an actual 90 year old woman who made this "prophecy."  We have nothing written by this alleged prophet; rather, the entire account was written by E. Minos allegedly based on what this woman supposedly told him.  It would have been easy for him to have written it and made up the tale on which it is based.  Sounds sort of like the Gospels, doesn't it?
