"There can be but little liberty here on Earth while men worship a tyrant in heaven."

— Robert Ingersoll

Here we go again with this lust bullshit in the Bible.

Tbh, who cares? School's for studying, so I don't really see what the big fuzz is about. This is really a non-issue, and not "another instance of theocratic encroachment on free-society", even if it was some Christard mother who filed the complaint.

It is religious based on the fact that the student is complaining of having dirty thoughts which is condemned by christianity. Someone needs to tell this person that having thoughts are not a crime. The problem is with the person making the complaint, not the cheerleader outfits. Seriously, if you want to complain about skimpy outfits, look no further than female gymnast leotards. When I was in high school the cheerleader out fits consisted of a thick heavy sweater and a skirt that stopped just above the knees. Unfortunately, this is another case of religion bleeding into society to try and control the masses by inserting jesus doctrine. Uhg.

I dunno maybe im a prude but i always thought high school cheerleaders shouldnt look so skimpy for no other reason than it always seemed to me to be poor taste for 15/16 years to pretend they are adults.

The essence of adulthood is to be scantily clad? :)

cant tell if your making a joke or being serious but if you are serious then ya missed my point. Let kids be kids. There is a huge difference at least in my mind between children pretending to do grown up stuff and grown ups doing grown up stuff.

It was a bit of both. Suffice to say, I agree with you.

One day you're a child, the next day it's your 18th birthday. Should someone provide a transition from childhood to adulthood? High school seems to try to do that but it is a flawed process.

I'm trying to see the difference between a cheerleader skirt and a skirt that females of all ages wear. Why is the cheerleader skirt sexualized but the everyday skirt isn't?

If cheerleader skirts are banned for skimpiness shouldn't we also ban gymnastic leotards and swim team outfits (swim trunks on boys, the most revealing of all outfits). How about shorts worn for track and field or soccer?

Are girls being distracted from Jesus by boys' wrestling outfits and the bulge 'down there' ? I bet they are. lol.

Oh well, that high school solved the problem. Now on to the next problem: Teen sexting.

Well, my wife would agree with you. She's said the same thing regarding cheerleaders. And I've raised some girls. I wouldn't particularly want my kid dancing around for the entertainment of the males. :) Of course now that they are grown up I have no stake in the matter.

Cheerleader outfits are a high school tradition ... and any tradition ought to be logically analyzed because they often don't make any sense.
