Nate Silver has Hillary at 82% as of today:

http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/#plus

She starts with 271 Electoral Votes from the heavily-favored blue states. And that doesn't include Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Arizona, and Iowa, all states where she is currently leading in the polls.

Goodbye, Sniffles.

Of course she will win. We've known this since the DNC debacle.

I can easily see people celebrating the fact that Trump loses, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how anyone can be thrilled with Hillary winning.

I certainly am not the least bit thrilled. But she is a better choice than Trump

Bill Clinton: Did not destroy America.

Hillary Clinton: As first lady did not destroy America

Hillary Clinton: As Secretary of State did not destroy America

Donald Trump: Is a businessman, not a destroyer of America

Really, none of the past presidents has destroyed America nor would anyone allow it.

Congress has a hair trigger when it comes to presidential impeachment proceedings.

It also has a Congressional Override.

I understand that viewpoint as well. Some people, however, are absolutely thrilled at the prospect of Hillarian rule as some are in love with the idea of Mein Trumpf. Yes, the lesser evil argument I get. Don't agree, but I get it for those who have bought into the establishment propaganda of Rep/Dem or nothing.

For starters:

- no Mike Pence/Theocratic-Fundamentalist movement a heartbeat away from the Presidency. This alone is a HUGE deal.

- the respect of the international community, as opposed to the USA being seen as the biggest joke in the universe with Trump

- a stable stock market and economy, not the chaos that Trump would instantly bring

- no suspension of the First Amendment while she takes revenge on newspapers who wrote "mean" things about her, unlike Trump

- no more fascists on the Supreme Court (though of course her appointments will be corporate lawyers)

- intelligently-worded speeches, press conferences, and States of the Union, as opposed to Trumpian incoherence for eight years

- the possibility of tougher gun safety laws, as opposed to eight years of NRA ass-kissing from Trump

- the possibility of student debt relief

- no threats to Entitlement programs

- strengthening environmental regulations rather than weakening them

That's just off the top of my head.

You do know that campaign rhetoric has no bearing on future performance. Look to past performance for that.

Of course. That's why I qualified my praise with "the possibility."

The expectations for any President are automatically going to be low no matter what.
