The link didn't work for me, but here's another.

http://www.debate.org.uk/debate-topics/apologetic/contrads/

In general, the biblical message is crystal clear, as long as you understand Hebrew, and Greek, and the culture at the time, and how to decipher copyist errors, and how to properly read the text, and not to take it too literally, and to understand the author's intent, and didn't take it out of context.

By the time you are able to properly comprehend the message as written, you will already be consumed by fire.

So, don't read it, just accept it.

Sorry, I expect the ultimate communication from an omnipotent, omniscient deity to its creation to be free of easily corrected errors.

Why should I worship a god that's such a shitty communicator? In order to devote myself to such a being, I would have to give myself a frontal lobotomy to keep myself from thinking about how stupid the Bible is.

Ironhorse's failure to refute these contradictions annihilates Ironhorse's standing to make any assertions about the Bible. Ironhorse may continue to make assertions about his biography, emotional state, feelings about the Bible, favorite rock groups, etc. Ironhorse has lost the faculties for making assertions about propositions expressed in the Bible.

Case closed.

Have you no response of your own to offer, Ironhorse?

Ironhorse's failure to refute these contradictions annihilates Ironhorse's standing to make any assertions about the Bible. Ironhorse may continue to make assertions about his biography, emotional state, feelings about the Bible, favorite rock groups, etc. Ironhorse has lost the faculties for making assertions about propositions expressed in the Bible.

Case closed.

I did respond. furball posted the list and provided the link. That is fine with me.

So I posted a link in response.

Hopefully, this time it will work.

Irrelevant.

The Bible fails at it's first verse.

No need to tackle anything further.

We've decided. Visitors to this site will profit by reading some of these back threads. I think they'll be convinced that Ironhorse has no basis upon which to justify any assertions about the meaning of the Bible.

Isn't it possible for the ex-C admins to implement a feature such that Ironhorse's posts need to be approved before they appear? Approval wouldn't even need to be done by a human; they could be auto-rejected when they contain less than 10 words.

On seeing the last two answers out of "The Simplicity" thread I think this is a good idea.

Yet you have already decided that "nothing" would ever cause you to give up your faith, Ironhorse.

How very curious!

You suggest that others do something you will never do.

Well, BAA, Ironhorse is just emulating the lesson he learned from Job in which the sky fairy taught him that 'Do as I say not as I do' is moral, proper and to be expected.

Isn't that 'lesson' called childhood indoctrination, sdelsolray?

A charge that IH roundly rejects, but which his behavior shows?

Ironhorse would simply get round that measure by cutting and pasting just enough text to bypass the auto-rejection, Bhim.

'Text', probably wouldn't be any answers to our questions, either.

Bono or Dylan lyrics, chunks of Bible commentary, passages of scripture, etc., etc.

And just enough for him to claim that he is responding to us.

I don't think so.  There are many (most?) Christians who have been and continue to be indoctrinated without any reference or mention of Job.  The lessons from Job are not usually in the Biblical cherry-picking basket forced upon young minds.

Yes, Ironhorse denies he was indoctrinated.  His posts demonstrate otherwise.

Ok sdelsolray.

Thanks for the clarification re: Job.
