Modern Day Prophets

How does one deal with modern day "prophets?" I deconverted a year and a half ago, and a 'prophet,' just sent me a "god said, do this" message on Facebook. I'd be lying if I said, he didn't spike my anxiety, a little. I don't believe him. I'd just like to know how to handle people like that.

Some clown prophecied that Trump would win in a "landslide." I hear that now Trump claims he's won in a landslide. And he can do that when he gets to make up his own facts. Until then, a Clinton edge of more than 2 million votes does not a Trump landslide make.

Prophecy false. Prophet needs to be stoned to death according to Deuteronomy.

Welcome!

In answer to your question, first, my one on one response to him would be "bite me." Second, you delete him from Facebook and your life.

Why can't Mods be liked?

+1 to florduh. What he said, ignore and delete. Out of sight, out of mind.

Possible responses:

1)  I do not believe you.

2)  You pretend to be more than you are.

3)  Tell your sky fairy to contact me directly instead of using a chucklehead to convey his message.

3)  Fuck off.

Of course, you can also tag him in Facebook as ignore so that his posts won't show up on your feed.

Two words which prove modern prophets are safe to ignore:

To add,

I have lived through a fair amount of end of days prophecy.

Every few years we get new prophets proclaiming this is the real thing...repent, repent and send us your money.

I love #3. My vote is for #3.

Please, for the love of the FSM, respond to him with #3.

I just ignore them but if I couldn't, I'd say "Show me the evidence. I want tangible, testable, independently verifiable, observable, measurable evidence."
