L.B.
There is just as much "biblical" justification for praying to Princess Jingles, The Popcorn Fairy as there is for praying to the "Blessed Virgin" or any other personage purportedly living in the sky. What pisses me off is that one person's (or church's, or denomination's) "careful reading" and "spirit-led understanding" of the bible is another group's heresy. My "favorite" thing, though, is the "secondary doctrines" argument - "oh, we totally disagree on XYZ doctrine, but that's a secondary matter and not necessary to be 'saved'." Once again, I call bullshit. If something is important enough for your church to have an official position on it, over against group B's position, then it can't possibly be secondary. If something was "revealed" to you by the "leading of the spirit", then it can't possibly be secondary. An almighty deity that wants its will done isn't going to give you or anyone else a choice, any wiggle-room or any ambiguity. Pre-coffee and pissed right now. Long day ahead. Religions, especially Christ-inanity, are full of shit.
