    Last Goodbyes

    By TheBluegrassSkeptic

Death for me over the years has rarely been difficult to process and move on. I've buried quite a few, only mourned a couple. The two I mourn are now memories I guard so earnestly a mother bear could not rival my ferocity. These two people immediately bring on the wet eyes and short tight breaths when I just so much as think on their lives, their influence, and my loss.   This past January I experienced a third loss of someone very important in my life. It's hit me very hard, and I am surprise

"we hadn't a story"

This could be one reason why Christianity, as lifeless as it is, just keeps hanging around. See below- "... and we hadn't a story nearly as good."   from At the Smithville Methodist Church by Stephen Dunn:   ...But when she came home singing "Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so," it was time to talk. Could we say Jesus   doesn't love you? Could I tell her the Bible is a great book certain people use to make you feel bad? We sent her back without a word.   It had been s

*hiss*

I'm beginning to really, truly hate humanity. Very little is actually keeping me from doing just that.   From the scum taking advantage of hurricane victims, to the absolute apathy shown to these people by the government, and back to the vile motherfucknig garbage who seek to pin the brunt of this immense disaster on the victims...   To the degredation of everything I held in esteem, the crumbling of my family, the failure of my nation, and the apparent collapse of the whole world...

Long time no read

Oh well. I didn't forget this blog... but you know how it is. Sometimes there's so much more important things to do...   ...like working yourself into the routine procedures at your new workplace. I guess I (mainly) figured it all out now. Of course, there's still the possibility of major crashes of some system or another making us all mad. Like yesterday. It's not fun when all database servers in a global banking organization go down in flames. Did you ever stop to imagine just how many IT

Into Buddhism

I'm really getting into Buddhism now. It fits my outlook on life and truth closely. I bought the book "What the Buddha taught" by Walpola Rahula. It had very good reviews from most all Buddhists, except from like one fundamentalist Buddhist troll on the internet. I read the excerpt on amazon and I was blown away by it. It's very easy to read for a book on religion.   I do not know what school of Buddhism I might follow. I do like Zen, but within Zen there is also Soto and Rinzai views. It's

Sexism is Good!   -------------------------------------------------- Women can't do work that men do. They mope about behind your back, "Please give me a break from bratty children, household chores, being your trophy wife. I want a rest" No siree. They don't understand what's good for them. I just don't like women. Mr Bra

Killing Infidels for Christ Forums

First... a history lesson on how I created KIFC. It were on October 11, in a thread about God, that I wrote this first ever KIFC satire.   Here is the original thread where I originally wrote KIFC in.   God is....   Stankdeezle were one of the first people to read it and the only Christian to actually comment on my satires.   Stankdeezle, you've carved yourself a place in EXC history.   So, enjoy!   A dissection of Posciple ice creams on Killing infidels for Christ forums

The AIDS remark in Class

My bully said "You'll get AIDS." I went livid. It were in English class. Then he asked the question, "Will Silly Geezer get AIDS?" Nearly everybody agreed.   I was sitting there, so mad, with ice cold anger running through my vein. Haven't the bully had the idea he caused incalcuable emotional damage to me by saying I'll get AIDS?     He said I'll have a 99% chance of geting AIDS since I'm bisexual. I tried to rebutt by saying there would be just be 30% to 50% chance of getting

Big day at the bookstore!

Just got a bunch of books from Borders and B&N... mum got some books for her, and I finally snagged a copy of Seven Pillars of Wisdom by T. E. Lawrence(Yes, E.... can't believe I didn't catch that in my old blog entry. And they give me a wand, can you believe that?)   Also got a nice thick book on the inquisition... fun. Should be enlightening at least.   Looking forward to tearing into them... :drools:   Merlin

Working on a big post at the moment

Been a while since I dropped in here so I thought I should sneak in and write something.   I'm not really fond of the direction Ex-C has taken lately... I'm trying to write out a post that explains where I stand and why I think it's wrong - and harmful.   Along the way I had a very nice oppertunity to take a look at some of the editors that come with Linux... I have fallen madly in love with GVIm. Wonderful editor, really powerful and I'm just scratching the surface... It takes a bit to le

Personal Statement on Faith

1. Belief is the result of the psychological desire that something be true, compensating for the fear that it may not be. The greater the necessity for compensation, the more fanatic the belief. 2. The more fanatic the belief, the more hostile the individual becomes towards those who do not believe or believe otherwise. 3. The whole of theistic religion is a belief-system (1) born of the fear of the unknown, and (2) is participated in, and promoted by, the individual equal to the degree of t

Get medieval on your ass

I found an awesome medieval role playing game. I was browsing Underdogs (a massive abandonware site) for any juicy games and I found Mount&Blade. It's actually a shareware game, you can advance your character up to level 6, then start over or buy a license for it. It's damn cheap (like 12$) so I bought it. The game is beta now, but is quite stable. There seems to be some graphics and features in the game that is missing though (like more furniture in the castles). The license is good for all

Argh! Pirates!

It's so silly. I played the Pirates game last night, despite not being in the mood, and it was damn good. Very addicting though. You sail all around the Carribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico blasting any ship ya want. There is little mini games that blend into the game to. For example, you can seak through enemy towns, or dance with the governer's daughter. Most of the time is spent hunting ships though. Capture them and sell them, or just sink them. There's tons of ports to trade in.   They

Not in a pirate mood.

Damn I just got Sid Meier's newest Pirates! game but now I'm not in a pirate mood. I watched the Pirates of The Caribbean movie and got all excited. It's damn fine cliched pirate movie. It's just like Cutthroat Island but with cursed pirates that turn into rotting skeletons when the moonlight hits them, and Johnny Depp. It's funny how I get inspired by most anything. Maybe that's why I would be drawn into Christianity so much, because of all the crazy inspiring it does.   Anyway I really

Nevermind.

I think I might ditch the asatru and follow some sort of buddhism or deism. Something simple. Maybe nothing at all. I have no time to play the religious games, with all their rituals and doctrines and everything else that gives me a headache. I need something I can relax with. Something I can be comfortable being with my family and others.   Paganism and heathenism, would require more solitude for me, something I have very little of. Plus it's just plain silly the more I read of it. I can se

Back to Asatru?

I'm really liking Asatru again. I like the values it holds, and I find drawn to it for some other reasons too. Maybe that its a sort of warrior religion. Maybe that its northern religion and I'm used to the cold. Maybe because I hate to shave.   I do find is confusing, and fustrating, trying to sort out through the good and bad factions, people and elements within it. Like Christianity, it has it's own nutcases, fundamentalists and viking fluffbunnies. Maybe it could be said that its nutty
