Diary Of A Food Addict: Renewal

Can't believe it has been over a year ago since I posted on this blog last.   SHAME ON ME!   Well, no, not really. I've actually made a lot of progress over the last 13 months, and made some permanent life style changes that I stuck with, and don't miss at all. As I am sure most of you remember, and if you don't just check out the gallery, I used to look like this.     Yeah, I was rockin' the scale at nearly 220 lbs (99.8 kg)..... Now, within about 4 months, I'd plateaued out, reaching

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 13 - Weight Issues And Beliefs

I've always had a tough time with losing weight after giving birth to my third child. I attributed this struggle to several things, and I assure you these reasons having to do with age and genetics was common logic being used, not sound logic. Since deciding to try and control how I make dietary decisions, I've really started looking into every aspect that affects an individual's health choices. Not surprisingly, I discovered that beliefs played a large part in this.   I'm sure many are famili

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 12 - Season Premiere

Hello? **Taps the Microphone** Is this thing working? **Looks out into the audience**   Oh, there you are! Well, hi there! Can I just say it is good to be back? I tell you, three months is a very long time to be away, and not a lot happened. Really! Not much at all!   So, I haven't been on for a bit. Distracted with a new job, new hours, new everything! Top that with my love being laid off and it was just a happy hog of a time (lots of sarcasm). Just like everyone else in the world, THINGS

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 11 - Back From A Nice Repast

HELLLLOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!   I have returned after a much needed repast. Essentially, I went on vacation!! Got back about two weeks ago and have been rather busy with classes.   So, with further ado, I will get everyone caught up.   I have travelled 3500 some odd miles this past month. Literally drove Cincinnati, OH area all the way out to Flagstaff, AZ and back again. Saw many sights. ENJOYED many foods. Did quite a bit of hiking around wild terrains. Pulled my hair out with boys fighting an

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 10 - Mondays Are The Weigh In Day

Well, helloooo again everyone! It's been another fantabulous week! The weather has been lovely. The personal life has leveled out. I even threw a birthday in there with a couple vacation trips now planned to finish it all off.   Damn, I'm really happy.   I know the last few entries were rather down in the dumps, but I know that whenever there is a change to my routine, it really messes with me, so thanks to everyone that hung in there with my couple weeks of bad attitude. This past week was

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 9 - Week 8: A Day Late Update And 2 Lbs. Short

Helllloooooooo Sun....errr, I mean... MONDAY?!?   Yeah, I know, a day late. Nothing amazing happened in that extra day I took to post this. Life and stuff. You know how that goes, right?   So, it's been a tough week to pull away and do the things I need to do to keep healthy. Have had a lot of distractions this week with the old man home, and my kids are soon to be out of school for the summer. One is even graduating. OMFG!! Where has time gone? But, nonetheless, I did manage to be careful o

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 8 - Off The Wagon, But Still On The Trail

Well now, it is only 10 a.m. on Sunday, and I have an update already?   Hmmmnnn, wonder what is up with that?   Honestly? I just didn't see the point in waiting until the end of my day today. This week has been the bum week. The week where I hit my motivational wall. I didn't exercise worth a damn this week, but I still managed to keep my intake under 1800 cals! So, I am happy I didn't go bad shit food binge crazy. I did eat more pasta this week though. I'm kinda not happy about that, but I

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 7 - Week 6: Making Some Gains While Still Losing

Start of week 6 is here, and it being a Sunday, you all know what that means!! Noooo, not a late day brunch!   It's weigh in day!   Man, what a week! Should I repeat that for the rest of you? WHAT A WEEK!?!?!?!   It flew by, was very busy, and still I feel like I didn't get enough done. And what is with the stupid weather??? Sunny and nearly 80, then low 50s and non stop rain. Blech!!! Still, I digress.   So as I was whining about last week...I know, was supposed to not have any whinin

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 6 - Week 5 My Personal Routine And Relationships

Hello Hello Hello!   Here we are at the beginning of week 5. I can't believe it! FIVE weeks of more focused life style change and activity. This week I changed up my bands, and started doing more leg focused training, along with daily back exercises to keep strengthening. I tell you what, I cannot believe how horrible the pain was the days after working out my legs. Especially my saddle bags! Holy Cow! Can you say Ooowwwwwww? I didn't pull my groin, but as crass as this sounds, it felt like my

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 5 - Week 4 And Avoiding The Blues

Here we are! Another week under my belt and after a few emotional road blocks, I find that I am still on track!!!   This past week I over did it a bit after discovering my knees do not like push ups. And of course, I hadn't thought to put a folded towel under them beforehand. Needless to say, after taking the day off today, that the lesson is learned!!! But, I love the push ups! I can feel the strength in my chest and shoulders building. My posture is starting to show improvement thanks to the

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 4 - Week Three Looks Good On Me!

Hellloooooo!!!!!!!! Sunday weigh in!   Okay, so I just want to start off by first saying THANK YOU to all the well wishers on here publicly and via private message. It really does benefit me a lot to get the affirmation of my choices and thoughts on my blogs. And to those of you weighing in with me privately:   WE MADE IT THROUGH ANOTHER WEEK!!!   Secondly, this past week was a doozy! I did NOT, yes you heard the "not" in that sentence, stick to my normal exercise routine. The reason wa

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 3 - Beginning Of The Week Update

Wow!   It's Sunday already? That means it is...   WEIGH IN DAY!!!   Yeah, yeah. I'm not as pumped as that sounds up there, BUT I am happy, AND feeling good.   So this week, I've been working on caloric intake, protein intake, and portion size. Overall, I feel good about where I've gotten. I also started my bands strength training this past Wednesday, and I really, really like it. It is just long enough that right when I am sick of exercising in the house, it's over! Yay! For those who ha

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 2 - I Wonder If This Is Okay?

Here's my question I never thought about before. I am a good 700 calories under my 1800 budgeted, but I am not hungry. Think it is a bad thing to stick to this? I am taking a multi-vitamin every morning. I think I am just keeping busy enough that my hunger addiction can't screw with me too much so I'm not nearly hungry like I usually THINK I am.   Breakfast   1 large hard boiled egg 78cal 6.3g P 1g Carb 2 cups cut cantaloupe 108cal 2.6g P 26g Carb (8% DV) 1 cup canned pineapple in juice 1

Diary Of A Food Addict - Entry 1 - The Joke Will Not Be On Me This Time

April 1st, 2013 - The joke will not be on me this time!     Two things this blog is NOT about:   1. Me whining about how I want to look like Brook Shields in 2 weeks.   2. Me whining about how unfair the world is so I overeat to compensate.     Okay, now that is out of the way, the purpose of this blog is to put myself out there with my own struggle with weight loss and addiction to food. I might ramble on about how I am really craving the salty texture of an Angus Mushroom and Swiss 1
