2 Weeks Out Of The Closet

2 weeks out of this thing. My sister now knows about my disbelief. My wife an sister are thick as thieves. So We went to visit not long ago and one night when there was just the three of us they inquired about my skepticism. They actually spent more time wanting to talk and tell me their testimonies rather than listening to me which is pretty annoying when you've been on that side of the argument all your life. No one cares why i think what i think. And when their little arguments dont want they say Im being arrogant. I know my bible better than both of them put together so I know everything they are going to say. Also, neither of them is equipped to deal with my arsenal of attacks on christianity. I actually introduce them slowly to stop from scaring the life out of them. Theyd try to give me an exorcism if they knew the extent of my knowledge on the subject.I always calmly tell them that this happened after intense study over the course of years not cramming a weeks worth of bible verses.

Another thing since coming out is my wife has become the joyce meyer of the house. Shes cranked up the praying and christian music which is a little annoying. Also, she says she cant help but think i look down on her as stupid while we are in church and I told her thats not the case but we are slowly getting back to the way things were before. Ill keep you updated.

Good to hear that is is getting back to something of normality. I know it's hard to deal with a difference of belief on this level, but you'll be stronger afterwards. And, in the end it's really freeing not worrying about hiding your disbelief anymore.

Oh, no...the thought of a Joyce Meyer clone would make me miserable.

Seems you are starting to crack her nut. If she is having self confidence issues about her faith and projecting it on to you, then you are going to eventually bring her around to your line of thought. If she was determined to go to a gym, regardless if you thought it was stupid or not, she would indeed go WITH confidence in her choice, correct?

Keep doing what you are doing. They always act more and more childish before they finally break down.

Congrats roadrunner; zomberina is so right; she is PROJECTING and this is a classic rebuff by christians who want to "feel superior" is to "feel persecuted" by US, the non believers just because we "came out" and told them that we don't believe anymore and they (narcissistically) want to make it ALL about them.

Good for you!!!!
