I dont believe those instances are God at all but rather a bloodthirsty mens idea of god, the out for blood storm, war god that they were convinced was God. I think at times in the ot you can find the real God speaking but you do have to discount so much as a lot of the time it was the opposite and I think a whole lot of religion today follows that same bloodthirsty god. That god is now looking at Iran and salivating over it, will haggee and his crowd convince the rest of 'christendom' his god is the God speaking and we should all get behind bombing Iran? That is what he is trying to do with his new book and his new speeches.

 

 

I find it interesting that according to Robert Freidmans 'Who Wrote the Bible' and the jedp theory, the p=priestly books that encompass most of the ot not one time have the word mercy or compassion in them, not one time!

Nice list...but I think we can add in numbers of the Inquisitions, European Witch Hunts, Salem Witch Trials, Crusades and yes, even the Christian "Martyrs" who died for the name of Christ. And of course, we can't leave out anyone from a country which kills their people for being Christians that Missionaries have made their way into in order to spread the "good news".

I would add Relevations' death toll count to that list. It would be bigger than Hitler since only 144,000 people are preserved in the Armageddon.
