Saviourmachine
Punishment of Thirds When someone does posses something he/she is not only its owner, but does have also responsability regarding his/her possessions. If you own a Pitbull or a Dobermann you've to make sure that the dog isn't going to hurt someone else. If you also have kids you've also make sure that the dog won't hurt them, even if you can consider them your own. So, even if we are God's possession, this doesn't imply that He isn't responsible for acts we are committing. He should protect his other creatures against us. Even stranger is the notion that God wilfully does transfer sins to others. Not only became the whole animal kingdom etcetera cursed, and were only we - humans - to blame. Also the idea of inherited guilt like Calvin found in the scriptures is very awkward. I'm not merely talking about the Curse in the Second Commandment - Deut. 5:9 - but about the idea of the Original Sin. Even if we have a depraved and corrupt nature, if we are subject to evil responses not of our own making, God has to forgive us less, not more. Also, the two first humans didn't even know that the animals would suffer if they would take the wrong decission! They were not acquainted with all the consequences of their actions. Only that they would personally suffer death (Gen. 2:17).
Darkenmoon
ooOOoo This is very interesting... and very thought provoking! I especially find this bit interesting Also, the two first humans didn't even know that the animals would suffer if they would take the wrong decission! They were not acquainted with all the consequences of their actions. Only that they would personally suffer death (Gen. 2:17). and especially this Even if we have a depraved and corrupt nature, if we are subject to evil responses not of our own making, God has to forgive us less, not more. It is interesting though that God gave us the red button and told us not to touch KNOWING we'd touch, not telling us all that would happen, and then blaming ALL the decedents forever after, and holding mankind responsible for everything... including the animals when it was his rules he made. Very sadistic. Dumb game too.
