  1. The title might raise eyebrows but hear me out. I'm not trying to apologize on behalf of fundamentalists or evangelicals as I've never been one and even then don't speak for all of them, but do hear me out. Like many of you on here, I was raised Christian. Unlike many of you, I was not raised Fundie-homeschooled-not-part-of-the-world style. I was raised fairly casually Christian, in that I don't recall much church growing in earlier childhood and that became more of a dedicated habit around middle school.   5. Hearing about another person's experience should not "raise eyebrows" as you put it. This place isn't a pity party or a competition for who had it worse. It's a place to help process it and move on. I've been out three years and I realize I'm relatively lucky in that I've been quite resilient in my recovery from religion. And I have met people with trauma of a different type which I can relate to, such as yours. You don't need to worry about reactions to fitting in here so to speak, at least I hope not. And I wish you well in your journey of recovery.

  7. So the original question from florduh involved the use of testing when there were so many reports of inaccuracies in the results. Take a look at what has been going on in Iceland with their very aggressive testing program: It’s still early but it is certainly possible that they may have the model that will be used in the future. NO LOCK DOWN WHATEVER!!!

Do you remember my posts about believing I've been told I am going to hell and how it caused me so much terrifying anxiety, how I would think I was having thoughts telling me I have committed such terrible things that I was eternally damned? www.ex-christian.net/topic/76626-hello/ Well, therapist after therapist told me you are experiencing "intrusive thoughts" and I argued I was not. An intrusive thought is when (for example) you might be driving along in the car and you think "What if I just, steered into that person and killed them?" (
