  1. My heroes are the people who have made mistakes and learned from them. Evolution of ideas seems to be difficult at best.
  2. Then may I suggest an intervention and a timeout in the relationship ? It's been my experience that most people don't change. But equal rights would be nice.
  3. I've had better sex with myself, than some women I've had sex with. Choose your fights wisely. Your time is valuable.
  4. I've been on the wrong side of domestic violence with two different psychotic women. Tell your friend to go out and screw the next thing that crosses his path, then go back and tell his GF. With any luck she will break up with him and leave after he gets his last beating (but make sure that he has a witness with him). She's liable to hurt herself and tell the police that he did it if she's like some of my ex-GFs. He can always get a restraint order. At one point I hired someone to live in my house, and stay by my side just to be my witness, and I slept in a locked garage at night. BTW,
  5. Rank. Can't say if the benefits outweigh the risks, so it would be difficult to for anyone to asses your situation unless they have been through what you're going through. Good Luck. Although from personal experience I can say that taking pain meds (opiates) for lower back pain didn't help me. It just gave me another problem, while masking the original problem. There is more than one kind of pain.
  6. People have died for less. But seriously, from what I've read in your post I'm guessing you have nothing to worry about except maybe a little heated word exchange. Anyway, I hope the kid doesn't take after his father. Hell, maybe you have been a good enough mentor to help the kid see life through a more rational window.
  7. The only Television my kids are allowed to watch, is PBS. It's much better than alternative stations, but there's always room for improvement.
  8. You people watch too much Television. It's a disease. Get some help, PLEASE.
  9. Some people think the Bible endorses marijuana, i.e. Genesis 1:29: Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you." This is proof that God and Satan, are one in the same. And Christians can't prove that they aren't.
  10. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH MARIJUANA...??? Seems to me that "God" would promote marijuana, and Satan would be anti-Marijuana, but pro alcohol. Of course this is based on my understanding of these invisible beings, and every "believer" understands them in different ways.
  11. Yeah, I can remember some if this crap from back in the 80s when we still had vinyl records to spin backwards. The church my family attended had some lessons about it. This only caused me to be more curious, and at the age of about 12 or 13, I felt that I just had to get this kind of music and see what would happen. Now, almost 30 years later, I still listen to Metal Music from time to time, and I have yet to see or hear Satan.
  12. Do you think that that was because the community was still establishing itself? Or maybe that a whole bunch of people were in the same place in their journey at the same time, due to the forum being relatively new? I like the wide variety of people that we have here. An important lesson that the forum has taught me, which will stand me well in my own life, is that I don't necessarily have to agree with someone on everything in order to still find a common ground on which to establish a friendship. And the variety of opinions on everything has made me more open to the idea that maybe I am w
  13. A few years back when I first came to this site, things seemed to be more cutthroat. If there were no Christians to go after, then ExC members would after each other (out of boredom I guess). Sometimes some of the old-timers seem to miss those days, but I can see how "lurkers" would have been scared away unless they were already a little jaded. IMO, things have calmed down, and I feel that lurkers will feel more free to come here, and learn some new lessons. Anyway, in the past maybe ExC members created kind of a reputation for itself, and some people may have been scared away. For now things
  14. 1 - I'm glad to no longer be a part of Abraham's religious terrorism network.
