  1. Doesn't the Bible say something about suing your Brother? https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+6%3A1-20&version=ESV It's a little convoluted, but it does mention something about how the litigant has defrauded and wronged others, which pretty much explains everything the Ark Encounter has done to Williamstown.
  2. So Muslim terrorists go ahead and bomb a bunch of Christians that have absolutely nothing to do with New Zealand? Go figure. What's interesting is that there were warning signs and reports that this would happen. Did hard-line Buddhist nationals ignore intelligence reports to both have Christians killed and have Muslims to blame for it? Do I sound like a conspiracy theorist? https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/04/sri-lanka-attacks-retaliation-christchurch-deputy-minister-190423082847025.html
  3. Hokey smoke that must have hurt getting inked in! Maybe now she can headbutt the unsaved until they become one of the flock now. At least everything looks like it's spelled correctly.
  4. Will it be cleaned by illegal immigrants from Hell? Who issues fake work visas in Heaven?
  5. This is pretty sick. I know most of my posts recently have been bashing the Catholic Church, but if they'd stop doing nasty things I'd have less to say. So a priest molests a woman he's giving Last Rights to. He faces one year in jail and up to $4000 in fines. Shouldn't they add elder abuse to that to get a lengthier sentence? The punishment definitely doesn't seem to fit the crime. Anyway, here's the article: https://apnews.com/6a2918a144a740468f9066624cddfaea
  6. 1) ToT and News have been folded into Controversy and Conflict Club. It's accessible from Clubs link under the Browse tab on the toolbar. Other subs have been swallowed into greater categories, like the Debate Area has the Lion's Den and the Colosseum. 2) It looks like Burnedout has been scoured from the site. His threads have been deleted, along with all of their replies. Also, it looks like all the reputation points he gave out have gone too. Have no idea what happened there. Hope that helps.
  7. I suppose something like this was inevitable, but here it is. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/12/nyregion/john-capparelli-priest-killed.html
  8. So Pete Davidson made some off color joke about the Church and they got their feelings hurt. While they state that the only acceptable bias is against the Catholic Church, don't they deserve it? To any rational thinking person the Church as an entity has lost any moral credibility, but they still think they deserve the benefit of the doubt. I heard them say that people shouldn't make jokes about the victims in this case, but I can't help but to think that they think the victims are themselves and not the sexual abuse survivors. https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/catholic-leaders-demand-snl-apologize-for-“alarming”-pete-davidson-sex-abuse-joke/ar-BBUEHLG?OCID=ansmsnnews11
  9. So I see Cardinal Pell got six years for his crimes. What's striking (or maybe not) is the extent his secular political allies have closed ranks around him. It's kind of sad, but putting the Church above reproach is the sort of thing that helped lead it into this morass of perversion. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/cardinal-george-pell-sentenced-to-six-years-in-prison-for-child-sex-abuse/ar-BBUH3Vo?OCID=ansmsnnews11
  10. It was a joke. I was soliciting opinions on the matter because I thought it was an interesting subject.
  11. I think that thing just gave me a seizure.
  12. I tried reading the Bible, but did it kind of backwards. I got through the New Testament with only moderate confusion, but gave up at the end of the Old Testament, as, as I've said before, it reeked of torture porn.
  13. I don't believe in unity/It's just one more abandoned dream/Once the people get together it's easy to see it's just a matter of time before they come after me Cool to be You, Descendants
  14. And it's over. The Cardinal has tendered his resignation to the Pope. At least he won't have more opportunities to further damage children's lives and draw a paycheck for doing it. Also, the article gets more into what Cardinal Barbarin actually covered up. https://religionnews.com/2019/03/07/french-court-convicts-cardinal-of-not-reporting-child-abuse/
  15. Six month suspended sentence. Wow. Color me unimpressed. Anyway, it's a step forward. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/french-cardinal-guilty-of-abuse-cover-up/ar-BBUtWKx?OCID=ansmsnnews11
  16. I always thought Marxist Socialism was about ownership. Factory workers own what they make and can trade it for other things they want or need. Middle and upper management, who don't actually produce anything, get taken out of the equation, leading to the Worker's Paradise. Since the rich only have money because they own things and don't actually make them, they get taken out too, especially if they don't have anything of value to trade for. They'll have to get jobs like the rest of the workers. Communism is about everything being owned by the people, and everyone taking what they need and giving what they can. Although the ideal is to not have government, it needs to be there to make sure distribution is fair and equitable. Whether that's country, county, or community-wide is questionable. Both are subject to abuse and anti-capitalist, Communism probably more so than Socialism. I don't see how either can really remain pure in today's society, especially when so much of our lives are online and how intertwined world economies are. It's a nice idea, but not quite feasible in my opinion. Kind of like trickle-down economics is a great business model until it's actually put into effect. Anyway, that's my take on all of this.
  17. Poor homeless Bibles. Starting over from In The Beginning is hard.
  18. So are state officials, gerrymandering aside. Whose elected officials take precedence? No one is disputing that. What they're taking about is age limits and more scrutinizing background checks. Is that so bad? What do you think about the Governor's statement that noncomplying Sheriffs would be held accountable if someone dies because of their not upholding state law?
  19. So some US Sheriffs are creating areas where they refuse to enforce some gun control laws. They admit that they took the idea from Liberal Sanctuary Cities where Federal immigration laws aren't enforced, but is this okay? As far as I know this is a States' Rights protest not a Federal Law thing. Should Sheriffs be able to defy State law when they don't like it? Are they freedom fighters or anarchists? https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-guns-sanctuary-idUSKCN1QL0ZC?utm_source=34553&utm_medium=partner
  20. There's definitely a schism on Untied Methodists' horizon; the Liberal opposition to the majority was too invested in their paradigm to just buckle under. I agree that in America there's a growing acceptance of homosexuality, but the real breadbasket of Protestant Christianity is in sub-Saharan Africa, where conservative values are still very much in vogue. United Methodist could loose members in America over this ruling, but it won't hurt them as much as it would have if they went the other way and offended the church overseas. That's your moneymaker right there.
  21. That's kind of what I've gotten from the handful of Sundays I've spent at the church I'm affiliated with. They're Christian on Sundays, then get back to their regular lives. I think the men have a monthly Bible study, but that's as far as it goes. When I told one member about some churches' Saturday/Sunday/Wednesday worship schedule their jaw practically hit the floor. Another family recently left for being too filled with the Spirit; they testified every service and sang loudly and Glory! and such-not. They were asked to tone it down and decided to find a new church instead. I guess you can have too munch God after all.
  22. I was mostly doing this for my own understanding/entertainment. I don't think I could get a Christian to justify God's existence. I'm not that good of an interrogator. Dammit! Got me again!
  23. Yes, I really think this. https://messianicprophecy.bible-history.com/MESSIANICPROPHECYThe_Seed_of_David.htm If God impregnated Mary before she coupled with Joseph, how could Jesus be of David's line?
