    Fuck knows...
  1. Has anyone mentioned the horrendous anti-semitic behaviour that's going on in FRANCE of all places right now?? Or indeed, the backlash against the entire Islamic population of that country for the actions of the few extremist who were involved in the shootings?? There is a LOT of persecution going on in what is generally seen as a fairly 'democratic' country which seems to be anyone apart from Christians...
  2. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:14 Don't rush to your next goal or achievement, don't waste your present for the future, wait for God in the NOW! There is a season of work and a season of rest, but both are acts of worship if we focus on where he is guiding us in the present! xxx I don't even understand this one, can someone explain what she's getting at????
  3. I'm afraid I have to disagree with you Heavenese I'm not going to quote it but you talk in depth about some of the Old Testament laws regarding rape victims marrying their rapists, stoning of disobediant children etc. I fail to see why you cannot see this is barbaric behaviour. I'm sorry, but it is. You talk about how you doubt that these rules were alwyas enforced. So? They were laws dicated by 'God' in his all knowing, all loving capacity. Does it matter how many people were actually stoned? Some presumeabley were, and this was considered ok? Is that not barbaric? And you also say that
  4. I always find this argument ridiculous because Jesus in particular in the Bible asks the people to do things which are almost impossible for ANYONE to do: love everybody, turn the other cheek, give up all your possessions, cut of parts of your body if they cause you to sin etc etc. You'd think 'Don't rape you bastards' would have been quite an easy instruction in comparison
  5. that almost makes sense. That's because it was created by someone who wasn't a Christian!
  6. My argument is still that whatever the circumstances surrounding what the tree was capeable of, Eve ate it to gain knowledge. Why should she be punished for wanting to gain knowledge? Never made sense to me! If I had a child and their only fault was a thirst for knowledge, I would consider them pretty damn perfect!
  7. I cant remember if this was actually in church or just what my youth leader told me, but I was told, completely straight faced, that the school carol service, which I participated in every year, was blasphemy because it involved allowing atheists to sing carols and other religious songs. Bearing in mind that the carol service was one of the highlights of my year as a music student. I ignored her of course!
  8. OMG, she's really going for it today Some quote she put up: grew up on a council estate in East London. Weren't 'supposed' to achieve much but I put my faith in God and worked hard. God is good. Always been a dream of mine to be stocked in HMV. Today it happened. #Odd1Out - head out to HMV and let's get it sold out! On iTunes and Amazon too! Yeah of course. Once again, the annoying assertion that any achievements made in one's life are down to an omnipotent being rather than hard work and skill........ And then of course
  9. Same Friend And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. Ezekiel 36:26 NLT
  10. It's Ann Widdecombe, I agree, she is very irritating a lot of the time!!! She was entertaining on Strictly Come Dancing, but I don't agree with her politics!!
  11. I hate it when people say stuff like that. I always say that if you don't 'self harm' (hate that phrase) and never did then you don't understand, I didn't understand why it helped until I started. I do know that there are some people who may cut for attention, a friend of mine told me he and his friend did it because they thought it was 'cool'. Naturally I ripped into him big time and he's changed his views. (or pretended to, he knows better than to say stuff like that to me now!) However, for the vast majority, it's not an attention thing. It's a distraction, a form of punishment in
  12. Only just got facebook yesterday (dad wouldn't let me until I was 18, and apparently my friends decided to bug me until I did yesterday!) and already found something special from one of my friends Praying about this at the moment, and my heart really feels for those in this situation. :'( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/10067062/Gay-marriage-could-stop-Christians-becoming-teachers-or-doctors-church-leaders.htmlhttps://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/http%3A//www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/10067062/gay-marriage-could-stop-christians-becoming-teachers-or-doctors-church-leaders.html/
  13. We quite clearly have not given our decisions thought? So it seems logical to you that we all decided, based on no research or reasoning, to leave Christianity, despite the fact that if we are wrong and you are right we would suffer eternal torment in hell? Do you really think that we are THAT stupid? I have heard what I think are natural theology arguments, people arguing that the world needs a creator, that this is well designed, this is well designed, e.t.c. I don't pretend to be an expert on it and I have probably misunderstood the definition. But that doesn't mean that I didn't th
  14. I think the best response is something along the lines of, 'tell that to the millions of impoverished children in the world' or 'tell that to cancer victims', 'tell that to rape victims' etc. Then watch them squirm and say something about 'punishment for sin'. Then ask them why God punishes these people for their sins but not the rich and famous. That's what I would do anyway, although I am probably patronising you, you almost certainly already do that!
  15. What drivel. You have arbitrarily chosen to believe one myth over another. That is not rational. Tee hee! Pot calling kettle or what!
