  • More About Me
My name is Blake. I'm a 26 year old West Virginian, engaged to a wonderful woman (soon to be married)! I enjoy writing and reading about the topics of spirituality, philosophy, and psychology. I'm a country boy at heart, and enjoy all things typical to the scene -- camping, fishing, grilling, hiking, so on. Philosophically I am a Taoist, but ascribe to no religion and believe in no deity. I am not closed off to the idea that there is a God, but, as the Tao Te Ching says, "naming it, it loses its name." Many religions hold aspects of truth that have been formed and molded to fit the culture and psychology of any given time period, it's when we attempt to carry over this certain bronze age idealism that we get into trouble. Well, I could go on and on... that's me in a nutshell.

  1. I feel you, Margee... I like to think that although we are, universally, just a nanosecond in time, on a tiny blue dot in an incomprehensibly large universe, we somehow got this chance to be alive. The very same perception you experience when you close your eyes at night and ponder death is an amazing thing, because when we insignificantly small human beings perceive anything at all, it is the first time, universally speaking, that perception of this scale happened at all. In other words, we humans are the universe becoming aware of itself. After billions of years, an ordered structure finally
  2. The trailer was great and I look forward to seeing it. It has a LOT of talent in it, and I enjoy mythical and theological stories. Crowe ALWAYS does a great job.

I'm trying to limit myself to no more than a couple hours a day so I don't lose track of my writing. LOL Here's hoping!

  4. "god was with me is all i can say, i was only 3 minutes behind that car wreck." Unknowingly implying God was not with the people 3 minutes ahead of you.
  5. "Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries."
  6. Yes I have been subjected to it, and I've done it, myself.
  7. Good for you for having the ability to think critically! It's difficult to hone that way of thought for people these days. I truly believe that all it takes is a bit of critical thinking to see outside of the Christianity delusion, but people with their faith goggles on truly evade those thoughts and try like hell to force it out of their psyche. You're making it! It can be a very rough transition, but worth it in the end.
  8. I am not depressed, but, sometimes the way the world is makes me want to go up on the hill, throw up a middle finger, and shoot myself in the brain. The world, as it is, sucks. Hey OT Gawd, we need another flood, man.

also i think it is easier to look at life and laugh when you start to get into your autumn years, you start the see the futility of it all, but i remember the intensity of my thirties, im suprised i didnt explode.

Autumn years??? I'm knee deep in snow! The most content man I ever met was a blind midget in his 40s. The least content was the well-to-do partner/manager of a company I worked for. Externals seem to have little to do with general attitude. Learned that in my 20s.

I am happier now than i have ever been. realising what assholes people are over the past couple years has freed me from expecting them to be anything else. has made life a LOT easier to bear.

  10. I was having a mild political/religious debate on Facebook (glutton for punishment I suppose), and that tired old argument of "just the OT" came out. Haven't made a response since. It just isn't worth it.
  11. I'm sorry Clifford, but you don't get it. I do appreciate the kindness in your gesture of reaching out.
  12. I was told by an old friend on Facebook today, in reference to Christianity, "hopefully you'll wake up before it's too late." Same guy deals drugs and sleeps with whores. God damn.

Lol, that's the type of believer that goes out and does nearly all of the sins in the Bible and says, "Jesus forgive me" later that night.

I don't know if it's funny or sad.

  13. Nope, you're not crazy. Well, you're only as crazy as we bipolar types tend to get from time to time. Your mom, though -- she seems a little off. To hell with that "bride of Jesus" nonsense, you have a life to live. Further, there is NO WAY you have a "spiritual issue"! Christianity is a spiritual issue. It crushes people's spirits and forces the remains into a fittingly cross-shaped box of torture. It breaks people down to keep them dependent on it. It's like a doctor who breaks your leg and offers you a crutch. This will all get better. Much faster, though, if you get out on your own
  14. My wife and I found the floating floor we want. Going to start the difficult decision-making process of selecting paint colors, next... I'm wanting light greens and browns in the living room, maybe pale yellows in the kitchen. About 2 more weeks and we can get started!
