  1. He's one of those people who would prefer to not be challenged unfortunately, sometimes people still continue to believe they are right even with a mountain of evidence that they are wrong, the delusional type, and you are welcome.
  2. The problem with saying it would not be Christianity is that the current teachings of modern Christianity wouldn't have existed to begin with (so we would have never known about them) if modern Christianity actually taught the above
  3. Although I find the idea of eternal blackness and eternal punishment both frightening, I would choose eternal blackness that is far much better, and why doesn't the Christian God just destroy souls? Eternal damnation is too much.
  4. I thought paganism was or does it have the most followers?
  5. I have had too many nightmares and the only time I dreamt about hell is when I was Christian, now I have dreams in which I am in a paradise told by specific religions.
  6. He did teach about sin but the real meaning of sin in Greek was revealed to be "missing the mark" or making mistakes. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1john 3:4 Sin is breaking god's law, not making mistakes. God wouldn't have sacrificed his only son for people having making mistakes. The bible is a law book, with god being the judge. Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. romans 4:15 Jesus came to save believers from that wrath. He absolutely spoke about sin, righteousness, and judgement. The bible as a whole never supports universal salvation. There are a few verses that use the word "world." But, the word world has many meanings in the bible. The bible taught thousands of things that many Christians never read I sooo agree with you. To answer your opening post, no i would not have stayed in it. -peace Alright, I probably wouldn't have either, Wicca is just too attractive

  8. This site has a tendency to piss people off of all religions, backgrounds etc, people have sent angry emails at this person, but I find it amusing at best and frustrating at worst. Check out what this guy says about atheism. http://jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Atheism/atheism.htm
  9. I know but I asked if it was loving would you have stayed one?
  10. He did teach about sin but the real meaning of sin in Greek was revealed to be "missing the mark" or making mistakes. What Jesus did not teach was salvation was through calling upon him as Lord and Savior.
  11. According to certain scriptures there is universal salvation and Jesus came to teach people to love others, but the teacher of eternal punishment and the whole Jesus died to save us from sin was taught by Paul, when I was a Christian, I noticed that he contradicted Jesus many times.
  12. If this were true, then jesus never would have come, so there would have been no christianity to begin with. But Jesus taught the opposite of what modern Christianity teaches
  13. What if Christianity was a loving religion that taught this 1. Humans are naturally good 2. There is no Satan 3. There is no original sin 4. There is no sin just mistakes 5. There is no eternal punishment 6. compassion and selflessness are truly honored. 7. Tolerate other religions 8. Do not subdue the earth but love it 9. Men and women are equal 10. beliefs are not important, only our actions 11. Homosexuality is not wrong 12. Sex is only bad when it results in pain, and only good when it results in a better relationship or a beautiful planned child other than that it is neither good nor bad. 13. No one has all the answers. What if Christianity were like this before you left it behind, do you think you would still be a Christian?
  14. Why would anyone want to worship a deity that will allow eternal agony for almost everybody? Almost seems like Christians are in league with evil.
  15. That's awful to know that beliefs are valued over friendship.
  16. There are billions of them! Hard not to befriend one accidentally or purposely However a few of them will want to remain friends with a non Christian, especially an ex Christian.
  17. Probably all of us have asked Christians where's the evidence that your bible is 100% accurate and they often give ridiculous answers that dodge the question like 1. Because the bible says so 2. Because the bible is the only true source in the world. 3. Because I have been born again. 4. Because history and science proved it. Similar to how we ask other intelligent questions like "why is Christianity the only true religion? ( because the bible says so.) Why would a loving God allow everlasting suffering? ( Because God is righteous and righteousness requires righteous punishment.) Why are religions like Buddhism, the work of evil when it cultivates peace and humility (because we are saved through Faith not good works, Jesus is the only way to heaven.) Isn't Christianity based on fear? ( no, it's based on love and the teachings of the bible) If God is a forgiving being, why does it take belief for him to forgive? (Because he cannot tolerate sin, just ask for forgiveness and receive Jesus as your Lord and savior) Why is Faith more important than actions rooted in unselfish love and kindness? ( Because we have all fallen short and our good deeds are filthy rags to God) If Faith alone saves, why does the bible say "A person is justified by actions and not by Faith alone? (We are not saved by works but by Faith in Jesus Christ) Has anyone else had similar responses to questions?
  18. You can still be a Christian and a universalist, many Christians don't even bother to the read the bible.
  19. You could have at least read a few passages.
  20. The vengeful God was ignored because he was created as a religious fear tool and has nothing to do with the god of spiritual matters.
  21. No, God and Jesus are worshipped by a religion but they are not religious beings. Anyone can believe an all powerful supreme being exists and a spiritual figure like Jesus existed without being a Christian or any kind of religious person. Jesus didn't even teach or create religion.
  22. I lost all fear of hell a few years ago and I want to take the fear of hell away from people who are still in doubt.
  23. No but I still believe in Jesus and God, I know I don't have to be Christian.
