  1. Today's earthquake in NZ didn't affect me, luckily. Thanks for thinking of us Kiwis.

      Aw, TYVM Skip & rjn.

  3. Amused by people who think Bernie Sanders' campaign is over. They seem to believe whatever the mainstream media tells them. Bernie has done extremely well against the odds and is poised to overtake Hillary in time, just like Obama did in '08.

Sander's campaign is not over. He has said so. Still, it is looking less and less likely that he will secure the DNC nomination.

It depends on which analyst you read, IMO. I've seen plenty of articles showing how it's possible for him to win. I don't see any benefit in giving up at half time. Esp. with Hillary's regular missteps and the FBI breathing down her neck.

  4. "Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education." Franklin D. Roosevelt

Education (in this case) = knowledge of what's going on + ability and willingness to employ critical thinking

Anti intellectualism, libertarian style, will be the death of democracy

  5. Obama had good reasons for not going to Scalia's funeral, and Biden is a family friend, so it was perfectly appropriate for him to go. Play the ball, not the man.

  6. Antonin Scalia requested cremation in his Will, but millions of women will meet tomorrow to discuss whether that's really best for his body. (From a tweet)

  7. I think Bernie Sanders is winning because he has the best policies and credibility, but also because his competition is a narcissistic, computer-illiterate criminal with a perverted husband.

Hillary is not inevitable at all. More people are seeing through her lies every day. She is using the same tactics she used on Obama, and they didn't work in 08 either.

Indeed. I liked Hillary a lot more before this camapign started and she really showed herself to be a rotten person.

I like Sanders. He won't win the nomination, but his contributions to the process is significant.

I'm not willing to write him off completely just yet. I would like to see a few more states weigh in the primaries first.

  9. May I be the first to wish you a Happy New Year! *Presents herself for kisses*

  10. Happy holidays from NZ! Come into the chat room :)

Hugs. Would seeing your therapist or doctor be an option? It can be a good idea to let your BF and anyone who is around you day to day know you're concerned about getting unwell, so they can keep an eye on you. Chances are you will be fine, but having a plan and a check up might give some reassurance. A good therapist can help you plan ahead and have written down what you would like to see happen if things changed. Good luck, and hang in there. "This too shall pass".
  12. The flu vaccine is really worthwhile... minimal cost, pain and risk, for a good degree of prevention of a very unpleasant illness that can land you or vulnerable others in hospital. If not for yourself, getting vaccinated helps those you may come into contact with who can't have the vaccine. Fall/early winter is the ideal time to get the shot.
  13. Glad you're doing well. Have you thought about getting the flu vaccine?
