I am one of those rare breeds of ex-Christians who has been involved with all three branches of Christianity - Catholicism, Orthodoxy and Protestantism. While I was never fully received into the Orthodox church, I have been baptized in the Catholic church (as an adult) and been received into a Reformed Protestant church through a Profession of Faith. I was very extreme in my views to the point of being a young-earth creationist (rare in Catholicism). I have since left the Christian faith and have embraced Buddhism, which is very different from theistic religions in that it is about improving oneself rather than serving a god or gods.
