    Hello fellow heathens!

I know Sam Harris, I'll have to check out Daniel Dennent. Thank you
  2. Thank you for reading. For me, this quote Bart Ehrman used in God's Problem ''put to ease'' all those contradictive feelings about suffering: From the brothers Karamazov. "Listen: if everyone must suffer, in order to buy eternal harmony with their suffering, pray tell me what have children got to do with it? It’s quite incomprehensible why they should have to suffer, and why they should buy harmony with their suffering. Is there in the whole world a being who would have the right to forgive and could forgive? I don't want harmony. From love for humanity, I don't want it. I would rather be left with the unavenged suffering. I would rather remain with my unavenged suffering and unsatisfied indignation, even if I were wrong. Besides, too high a price is asked for harmony; it's beyond our means to pay so much to enter on it. And so I hasten to give back my entrance ticket, and if I am an honest man I am bound to give it back as soon as possible. And that I am doing. It's not God that I don't accept, Alyosha, only I most respectfully return him the ticket."
  3. This very week. In Spanish, ''Say grace'' is the same phrase for ''Say thank you''. I went to my parents' house and my brother had cooked Paella. My dad asked ''have you already said thank you? (='said grace' in Spanish 'dar las gracias'). I looked at my dad, then I turned to my brother ''Thank you Danny''. And carried on eating.

Timing of telling family and friends

I havent' told my family yet. Since i moved out of my parent's house, our relationship has become so much bearable that I am kinda sad that it's going to end. Plus I also have to tell them about my atheist boyfriend... O.o

Wow... I wish more bands were as transparent. Does anyone buy Switchfoot anymore?? lol.
  9. Hmm. Does this refer to English-born? Because I live in London and among those who profess having a religion, I find that a big part of them are muslim.

    Not sure..but I’ve had a crazy journey

Don't worry, I belonged to a ''libera'' denomination and still feel as outraged about all the misogynist content of the bible. Totally agree.
  11. Being so aware that I could never believe again even if I tried, which meant that I could never participate in a lot of the activities my family wants to participate- because religion is involved in most gatherings.

    Aw crap! She knows.

Wow, must have been harsh, makes me wonder whether I should wait so long to tell my family that they find out themselves :/
  13. I would go to the bank, ask for a loan, and spend it all in travelling around the world. Hopefully some friends would want to come with me. I guess it would still be kinda sad anyway... idk why am I thinking on the ending of House.
