  1. If christians and all other religious fanatics would mind their own business, respect the boundaries and privacy of others, not meddle into the pelvic areas of consenting adults, and keep their personal relationship with their particular deity out of politics, they probably wouldn't be "persecuted." But that would really suck because it would mess up their big ol' martyr complex. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Myth_of_Persecution https://thehumanist.com/magazine/may-june-2017/church-state/great-persecution-christians-myth
  2. Some comments have been deleted. Please remember the rule that all "polticial" comments must be confined to Totally Off Topic. --Thanks
  3. Inappropriate comment removed and poster warned. I am also going to try to delete copies of her text which appear in others' posts. If the system won't let me and/or I miss something, please please please edit your own comments if you quoted our latest invading Authentic Christian Believer who obviously chose to ignore the very few rules we have here. Thanks, Buffettphan
  4. Are you really so dense and/or insensitive that you don't know and/or care that those in AA meetings are trying to avoid alcohol -- not change the properties of it? Did you even read the article? The subject of religious trauma is not a laughing matter and your flippant attitude shows your true self.
  5. Just a friendly reminder before/if you respond, there is no preaching/proselytizing in the Rants Section. We have the Lion's Den for that. So if you can do so without preaching/proselytizing, please feel free to explain why you believe that religion will never end.
  6. I Don't Give A Fuck - ism? https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Idgafism
  7. @SerenelyBlue Totally Off Topic is now found under the "Clubs" area of the forums. From Browse, go to Clubs, then to "Controversy and Conflict" and then click on the "Totally Off Topic" tab. Things have changed a little since you were last here, so it might be helpful to check out the overview and posting guidelines too. Hope you're doing well, SB.
  8. And now there's a case of tetanus. The unvaccinated 6-year old kid spent 57 days in the hospital, near death and in excruciating pain while racking up a million dollars in medical bills. Some snippets from the article referenced below. https://www.oregonlive.com/clark-county/2019/03/rare-case-of-oregon-tetanus-required-care-of-100-doctors-nurses.html
  9. For the record, christforums has been notified of this thread.
  10. No prob. I can't wait to see why he thinks believes he's so special.
  11. This thread is to continue the questions/answers between @Christforums and @LogicalFallacy that were previously posted in the Rants subforum.
  12. @Christforums , @LogicalFallacy and other interested people: I will create a topic in the Lion's Den entitled "What Makes @Christforums Special?" for responses, proselytizing, explanations, etc. People who may be in the early ages of deconverting don't need to see any of Christforums' (or any other really true believer's--doctrinally sound or not) posts in this subforum. When our people, those for whom this website was created, are ready, they'll venture into the Lion's Den. In the meantime, they can rant about believers knowing that believers won't be allowed to tell them they're wrong, misguided, doctrinally unsound, or anything else. Thanks a bunch. buffettphan Moderator or Rants and Replies ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ETA: Here's the link to the Lion's Den thread:
  13. ^ Fuego's right ^ It's around 25 posts, give or take. You will automatically go from New Member to Regular Member. You'll see a heart on the far right in the same line as Quote Edit Options. Hover on the heart and you'll see the types of reactions. Click on the one you want to use. Welcome to Ex-C!
  14. QFT! There's an article on the main blog where webmdave added this: http://new.exchristian.net/2019/01/god-has-narcissistic-personality.html
  15. Welcome. The Lion's Den is the appropriate subforum for you. Thanks and have fun. BTW, there's already a thread in the Lion's Den that's seems tailor made for you. https://www.ex-christian.net/forum/6-the-lions-den/
  16. Ah....but a new one has arrived. Perhaps @Christforums will grace us with his replies. I will move this thread to the Lion's Den since that's where Christians may answer/proselytize/debate. Have fun.
  17. Please let us know when your book is published!
  18. Just a heads up. If this thread gets "political" I will have no choice but to move it to TOT. Can't have anyone's eyes burned or feelings hurt. So keep the conversation general. Thanks.
  19. Seems to me your parents need you more than you need them. So do what is best for you and don't be bullied or guilted by them.
  20. That's what I call Good News! (I wanted to upvote your post, but I'm out of them for today.)
  21. Some "godly" Hitler quotes -- for more see here: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Religious_views_of_Adolf_Hitler Mein Kampf (1925-1926)[edit] Ralph Manheim, ed. (1998). Mein Kampf. New York: Houghton Mifflin. ISBN 0395951054. Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord. (p. 65) Political parties have nothing to do with religious problems, as long as these are not alien to the nation, undermining the morals and ethics of the race; just as religion cannot be amalgamated with the scheming of political parties. (p. 116) This human world of ours would be inconceivable without the practical existence of a religious belief. (p. 152) Even today I am not ashamed to say that, overpowered by stormy enthusiasm, I fell down on my knees and thanked Heaven from an overflowing heart for granting me the good fortune of being permitted to live at this time. A fight for freedom had begun mightier than the earth had ever seen; for once Destiny had begun its course, the conviction dawned on even the broad masses that this time not the fate of Serbia or Austria was involved, but whether the German nation was to be or not to be. (p. 161) And the founder of Christianity made no secret indeed of his estimation of the Jewish people. When He found it necessary, He drove those enemies of the human race out of the Temple of God. (p. 174) His [the Jewish person's] life is only of this world, and his spirit is inwardly as alien to true Christianity as his nature two thousand years previous was to the great founder of the new doctrine. Of course, the latter made no secret of his attitude toward the Jewish people, and when necessary he even took to the whip to drive from the temple of the Lord this adversary of all humanity, who then as always saw in religion nothing but an instrument for his business existence. In retum, Christ was nailed to the cross, while our present-day party Christians debase themselves to begging for Jewish votes at elections and later try to arrange political swindles with atheistic Jewish parties — and this against their own nation. (p. 307) Anyone who dares to lay hands on the highest image of the Lord commits sacrilege against the benevolent creator of this miracle and contributes to the expulsion from paradise. (p. 383) It would be more in keeping with the intention of the noblest man in this world if our two Christian churches, instead of annoying Negroes with missions which they neither desire nor understand, would kindly, but in all seriousness, teach our European humanity that where parents are not healthy it is a deed pleasing to God to take pity on a poor little healthy orphan child and give him father and mother, than themselves to give birth to a sick child who will only bring unhappiness and suffering on himself and the rest of the world. (p. 403) The folkish-minded man, in particular, has the sacred duty, each in his own denomination, of making people stop just talking superficially of God's will, and actually fulfill God's will, and not let God's word be desecrated. For God's will gave men their form, their essence and their abilities. Anyone who destroys His work is declaring war on the Lord's creation, the divine will. (p. 562) As far as this variety of ‘folkish’ warriors, are concerned, I can only wish the National Socialist movement and the German people with all my heart: "Lord, preserve us from such friends, and then we can easily deal with our enemies." (p. 565) Since Germany never defends herself, except by a few flaming protests on the part of our parliamentary elite, and the rest of the world has no reason for fighting in our defense, and as a matter of principle God does not make cowardly nations free... (p. 622) For this, to be sure, from the child's primer down to the last newspaper, every theater and every movie house, every advertising pillar and every billboard, must be pressed into the service of this one great mission, until the timorous prayer of our present parlor patriots: ‘Lord, make us free!’ is transformed in the brain of the smallest boy into the burning plea: ‘Almighty God, bless our arms when the time comes; be just as thou hast always been; judge now whether we be deserving of freedom; Lord, bless our battle!’ (pp. 632-633)
  22. Please familiarize yourself with the term "scientific evidence" vs the vernacular use of the word "evidence".

Exactly! If one spends just a few moments checking out our little area of the internet, they should readily see our purpose as it is clearly stated in the Guidelines. Speaking for myself (as myself, not as a moderator), when I go to a website new to me, I check out their guidelines/rules AND I read a lot of posts before I begin posting there. While Christians are allowed to post here, it seems obvious that most of our christian visitors don't bother with doing a little bit of research before blasting into our living room. It's most irksome when they say they're not here "to proselytize" (yeah right!) and commence to argue with whatever we say. So anyone who whines about not being respected here has no one but him/herself to blame. Or as webmasterdave also says in the Guidelines:
  24. @Miriam Hmmmmm....you complain that your speakers don't work so you can't listen to information members here graciously provided. Yet when @Citsonga posted a link to his written extimony, THIS is your response? ....speaks volumes
