It All Began Because Of A Girl

Recommended Posts

I used to be a Christian went to a non denomination church all was good in my life. I never questioned anything, I just thought everything was ok.....until one year and half ago. Something inside me snapped.....

I prayed because I wanted to have a girl friend. Find that perfect girl in my life every year. It seems when school starts. Well it is Junior Year of High School. In matter of fact I think I may have found the perfect girl. I become real good friends with this girl in my class. ( And she is even one year older than me.) I thought I really found the one. First we were friends then it progressed I realized I really liked her.....

The story sounds too good to be true. :notworthy:

This is the only time I thought God was really there but I was sure wrong....

The following day that I realized man I really like her. She told me she was leaving the class. ( She warned me two weeks before hand.) All of a sudden I started to like inside myself everything was malfunctioning. I just said ok. Yes I was angry, sad everything but it didn't blow up till class ended. Her last words to me was "bye". All of a sudden ( I am being dead serious) My whole body got a deep chill. I felt so angry and mad. It was like I was stabbed in the back by a rusty sword.

Oh it gets worse....she plain out ignores me....I see her I wave she doesn't back. I do have to say I talked to her once more. She called me her " Hero" I will not forget that one line.

Yes this is a true story I see how it could of worked out differently but how I felt about Christianity is implied in this but I will explain. I prayed nothing happend. I thought it was going to happen. It felt like God's sick joke in my heart. I felt like God did betray me in a since (because I was still Christian at the time.)

Well through my anger I started to just notice more around me...nature, politics everything. It was like I left my confort zone. I went looking on the internet about God being wrong...being a hypocrit...what was I doing wrong...incidenitly I found a website titled www.evilbible.com. I was shocked I started to do a lot of readings. It shows everything that we discuss here about the evils all the versers (or most.) I was so shocked I was believing this religon of Christianity. I was becoming an athesist deconverting slowly. At times I had guilt...but it is all gone now. (Naturally) But it was all gone completly around Christmas. I realized there is no point of joy in this silly little holiday. It was more about being with my family. That is all that mattered. I will not worship a God that allows Genocides, bombings, floods, sacraficing....he is imoral and I am tired of heating how loving he is when it is all bull shit. Bull shit that is all Christ is.....

To think just over this one girl. Yes she was a major influence even if I was ignored some things she made me feel knowing her. Even distant its kind of hard to explain how I still feel about that situations. I still base things off my life off of that and everything is really positive. I am attending college in 2 weeks I just hope I find that girl.

Hi Ramen. I can understand your frustrations. I prayed for years for the right woman to come along and many times I thought I'd found her and created all these arguments in my mind that she was the one and it was of God. But each time I was disappointed. If was very frustrating at times. But I wouldn't base my entire faith on whether God sent me the right woman at the time I really wanted it. After all it's not really his fault if all along you've just been kidding yourself right? Some times you want to believe so much you'll conjure up every reason you can to believe that it's "God's will", even if it's not.

But having said that, this is an ex-christian site and I'm not trying to convince you to believe. Far from it. But something positive has come out of what happened, because now you have been able to cast a critical eye over the bible and the beliefs Christians have.

I hope you find that special woman. Just remember, it is you that will find her and you don't have to rely on God to bring her across your path.

I said I used to believe and I saw nothing from it. I saw prayer didn't do anything and even you said you were the same way. I try to see what your saying but you are saying first. But at times you are agreeing and times your are not. I don't understand what side you are on. Maybe let me make myself clear. I am an athesist. I saw prayer didn't work. I used to believe in God but I don't. You sound more like agnostic what are you?

I based it off of that because I saw prayer is a bunch of bull shit. God doesn't help anyone that event was more of the final straw. Prayer never helped me...at me....in my life. Then you are coming off don't base your faith off of it. That doesn't make since because that was just the last straw event that I thought " God is an ass."

Sure God helps people. He helped me alot in my life, I know of others who He has helped, and I'm sure He has helped many, many others. We have to remember that God is not the only Being at work in this world. His enemy is working also. God can take something that is bad, and turn it into something good. I felt like God betrayed me some in my life too. But He led me through it. He will lead you through it too if you would wait and rely on Him.

Oh god...I thought only Ex Christians come here....I will not follow God because he is a murdering lunatic. Who wipe his ass and you will go to Heaven. That was just the last straw. Read other people's post God HELPS NO ONE. Not me, not you not even the fundies that wipe his ass every single day. I am tired of " It's God's will, be patient" sorry its not happening and I am tired of hearing. Its all in your mind God doesn't help anyone. His "washing away" our sins did aboslutly nothing for us. Look at the news....look at the floods. You sound just like the other fundies that wonder on this board.

I've been to that site. It's a load of crap. The Bible says that no scripture is of private interpretation, and that is the perfect example of what happenes when you try to interpret the Bible for yourself, rather than with the help of an experienced Christian like a Pastor.

And a pastor could do better? An experienced Christian OMFG. I have never heard that one before. Christians have private interpretation. A pstor is still human and the Babble was still written by humans. You believe the God is like your best friend. Since you been to the site give me examples of mis interpretation. It is directly in the Babble and you are denying. I can't believe you have nerve to call pastors "experienced" Christians. Yeah like they are higher than you. They molest kids, steal and do child pornography. But well they are experienced...so that makes it ok.

Man I hate fundies like you same old crap... I know what your repsonse will be. " Mis interpretation, out of context, its not literal," I heard all the crap before so try to enlighten me.

Make no mistake, there are false teaches and false prophets, but we should get godly spiritual authorities to help us in our walk with God.

Scott I will be nice and I will talk about this argumentivly. But let me ask you a couple a questions? I will play on your side its not what I believe but what the hell? Ok you said ask a pastor, preacher. Right.

According to Christians the only way to get to heaven is by believing in Jesus. Plain simple if you don't believe well you will be in the eternal pressure cooker. So are you saying its fair God blamed humanity from Eve eating a fruit. A damn apple everyone has to pay for their mistakes? Another question that comes into mind while I am at it? Muslims, Buddahist, Hindus, ect well they will end up in the Eternal pressure cooker. That must make you proud you arn't Chinese because if you were born in China well I guess you would be in Hell.

Here is another topic I want you to answer tell me what you believe about Jeezus Christ the lawd. Tell me you think it's fair for hell to even exsist.

As for the "experienced" Christians. You are no better off saying EvilBible.com is wrong. You say "it's mis interpreted." That is the flaw the Bible can be interpreted as one sees fit. You do the same exact thing or go off of what the preacher said. That is a pretty crappy thing to go by. I will give you one more link it's not evilbible.com it's another website. Actually read the articles please...

#1. The only way to get to Heaven is to believe in Jesus and by repenting of all sin. Everyone who does not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be damned.

#2. Hell is fair. For God to send His own Son to die on the cross for our sins, and make it possible for us to enter Heaven by simple child-like faith, shows the greatest love in the world. If we reject the love and mercy of God, by the action of disbelief, we say that we will pay for our own sins. As God cannot be in the presence of sin, how could He allow us to be in Heaven? That is why Hell exists. God cannot be in the presence of sin, therefore we are seperated from Him forever, which I believe is the chief torment of Hell. Since God is love, there will be no love in Hell. Since there is joy in God's presence, there will be no joy in Hell. Since knowing Christ brings peace, there will be no peace in Hell, and so on and so fourth.

Ok that answers my question you think that Hell is fucking fair. That is the most aburd thing I have ever heard in my life. Hell burn all eternity. Yep thats fair you sound like a typicaal fundy. This is what I see the picture like.

God- Love me

He is holding a gun to your head.

Us- Ok I will believe so I won't go to hell.

God is pretty much like Hitler in my opnion. Hell is not so different. You don't believe in Christian ideals well too bad off to the eternal pressure cooker. That's fair...It's like you don't agree with Bush you will get shot and die.

If a person is about to fall off a cliff, and a man comes to hold out his hand for the falling man to grab and be saved, is it the man's fault if the falling man does not grab on? No. Is it his fault if he falls down to his death? No. It was the falling man's choice not to grab on. That, I believe, is the way it is with God. He sent His Son to save us, yet if we don't put on the Savior, we will fall into Hell.
If a person created the conditions for falling off the cliff, and tells you he'll save you, you just gotta serve him for the rest of your life, or suffer horrendous torture, is it his fault if you decide it'd be better to fall and die?

Wow, you sound like a spoof. Either that, or you are about to do a lot of maturing in your probably brief sojourn. If it's the latter, good luck

Yup xians come here and try to preach their asses off. Ignore them or beat the shit out of them. Even if god did exist, I wouldn't care, believing in god didn't do me any bit of good. I've found "god" and xianity to be exhausting.

Anyway Ramen666, you don't need "god" to do life. People from all backgrounds have found partners, husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, etc. All on their own, I do think that we're compatible with a bunch of different people and not just one. Xians do life on their own as well, they just convinced themselves that god is along for the ride when clearly there is no god. I wish that xians could not come here at all because of people like Scott.

but in this analogy the man holding out his hand has limited power...if that man had wings and could fly and still let the man fall to his death would he still not be to blame? God is supposed to be all powerful...so which is it? is got evil or just impotent?

Why would you not serve your Creator? He is worthy of it. We are the creature, He is the Creator.

This makes a lot of assumptions. Perhaps we have no creator....perhaps our creator is not intelligent...or perhaps our creator simply doesn't WANT us to worship him, perhaps the gnostic and Marcionite Christians were right and our creator trapped us in fleshly bodies as some sort of punishment and therefor our creator is evil.

In any case, I am personally a relativist and as such I believe morality is bassed on the perspective of the individual...therefore even if there is a creator, if he takes actions that harm me in some way then those actions are, in fact, evil from my perspective...If he created me with free will then I freely choose to not worship something that is only interisted in its own glory.

You are assuming that our creator MUST be like the Bible's description of him in order to argue for your religion....sorry but that's circular logic

I'm not preaching, Knightley. I am stating my beliefs.

From dictionary.com

3. to advocate or inculcate (religious or moral truth, right conduct, etc.) in speech or writing.

Sorry but by this definition you ARE preaching.

Next time you go the store ask why The Bible isn't in the Fiction section.

I like that line a lot! Welcome here, Ramen.

Back to the OP - Ramen, you would do well to learn that nearly all of life's troubles usually begin with a girl.

[ducks barrage of objects thrown at head]

But just relax and wait -soon enough, another pretty little thing will come traipsing merrily along, and you can go through it all over again!

Circle of life, man.

But at least you got out of the stoopid xtian mindset. Life's complicated enough without all that crap on top of it.

Sorry to cause confusion. In a way I was supporting faith to a certain extent in that if someone is going to reject it, it should be for a good reason. I just got the impression that the relationship issue was the major one from your post (especially due to the title of the thread - all because of a girl). But as you point out, it was just the final straw.

Agreed! I hate the lame-brained concept of the "soul mate." I think far too many people have entered into bad relationships and marriages because they believe that god has led them to "the one."

Unless a person is really, truly bizarre, each of us could be compatible with a number of different people. The trick is learning enough about the potential mates we meet to determine whether true compatibility exists and then making a commitment to one.
