willybilly30
Stupid email: Subject: MARBLES Dear God, First, my car broke down I was very late for work But I missed that awful accident Was that your handiwork? I found a house I loved But others got there first I was angry, then relieved When I heard the pipes had burst! I know you're watching over me And I'm feeling truly blessed For no matter what I pray for You always know what's best! I have this circle of E-mail friends, Who mean the world to me; Some days I "send" and "send," At other times, I let them be. I am so blessed to have these friends, With whom I've grown so close; So this little poem I dedicate to them, Because to me they are the "Most"! When I see each name download, And view the message they've sent; I know they've thought of me that day, And "well wishes" were their intent. So to you, my friend, I would like to say, Thank you for being a part; Of all my daily contacts, This comes right from my heart. God bless you all is my prayer today, I'm honored to call you "friend"; I pray the Lord will keep you safe, Until we write again. Happiness comes through doors you didn't know you left open -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message. Oh, I'm blessed to not got a house with broken pipes,So I guess them people didn't diserve a blessing. My mom sent this I would tell her this but she probally would have some lame excuse for god. I sent my mom these questions: Why didn't God prevent people from being in the wreck? Why am I so important I'm prevented from a house without broken pipes but the others weren't? (I wonder if I'll get a "mysteries of god comment" )

In her brainwashed state it's God did it so it might be right I guess.

Piprus
Sadly...this is just the way fundamentalist christians think, sometimes...always looking for evidence of "God's intervention" or Jesus' "caring" in the simple goings on of everyday life. As long as they believe, it probably won't change...
pandora
Losing your marbles, eh? Maybe that e-mail was said tongue in cheek or sarcastically, and somewhere along the way, a Christian didn't get it and passed it on to other Christians. That has got to be one of the stupidest e-mails I have ever seen. I don't know what to say.

I just don't get why the person in the story thinks they were blessed or rescued by god, Yet there is people in a car wreck and a house with no pipes. Does the person who wrote this only care about themselves I wonder. Losing your marbles, eh? Skeptics like us apostates would be able to see the total picture, that one person's good fortune can mean another's misfortune. Where there is a blessing, there can also be a curse. Amethyst
Willy, that's the same type of argument people used on me when my housemate killed himself. Yes, I survived the fire. But he didn't. And, according to their beliefs, he is being tortured forever and ever and ever in hell, either because he's agnostic or because he suicided or both. How is that a miracle and why should I worship a god who supposedly plans such things?
willybilly30
That makes me think of something else cruel. If God exists and his creation is his children. If he was a good father he'd be conforting the housemate besides burning him. He's worse than eny human father I know most fathers I know comfort hurting children. Also I think it's cruel if god exists to not prove himself then get pissed, and Send unbelievers to hell.
